FIELD UPDATE Hello Bulls Family, Just a little update on the field condition. The seed we put down earlier in the season seems to be growing in slowly but surely. I think it will be fine by the start of the season. Both fields are being mowed and trimmed, they really look nice. The area by Pappa Bulls Memorial was weeded and new mulch put down. I think it will look pretty good for the Alumni Day at the field next weekend. We still have some work to do, so we'll just keep plugging away. Just like before, any ideas or comments are always welcome. See ya at the field, Tony

FUNDRAISING Once again we had a terrific turn out at our fundraiser!

A Message From Bullseye I would like to thank all the football players and cheerleaders who came out and supported the New Milford Bulls on Memorial Day. Everyone involved made it a Memorial Day to remember. I would also like to thank the parents who helped out with walking with our little ones and the countless number of photos posted. I had a great time hanging out with all the kids before the parade even started. Taking pictures and being surrounded by all the kids really made it worth coming out of my pasture. When the parade started I was very proud to be wearing the new practice jerseys all the boys and girls wore. Hearing the boys and girls hooting and cheering really showed spirit. I hope to see everyone at the Alumni and Family Picnic on June 9th, 1-4 pm. See you at the next event! Your Mascot, BULLSEYE

On May 19th, we had over 60 players Bowling with the Bulls. We glow bowled to our favorite tunes, had some pizza, met some new team mates and just had an all out good time. Our newest team mate "BullsEye" made his 1st of many appearances and took pictures with our players. This event was definitely right up our alley. I'd like to thank all that have participated, helped out and supported us. Its families like you that really make these events a success. ALUMNI Chuck Lynch As head coach of the New Milford High School Green Wave football team, Chuck Lynch remembers back to 1984 and his time as a Bull when he was an offensive guard, linebacker, full back and defensive end. His own abilities to motivate his players and make them strive to become better are much like those of his 1986 coach and a major influence in his life, legendary Bulls coach ... Tony Piscetta. “Once a Bull always a Bull” , today giving back to the organization from which he came , Chuck runs a successful training camp for Bulls players each year. During camp he, his staff and his varsity team, provide Bulls players with the opportunity to improve their performance and skill level at all positions. Chuck knows today a Bull; tomorrow a member of the Green Wave football team! Today, a second generation of Lynches can still be found on Bulls field, however they aren’t running the ball or throwing tackles, daughters Carly 7 and Collette 9 can be found on the sidelines cheering the Bulls on to victory.

Kelly Bara From 1993-1998 Kelly Bara poured her heart and soul into every cheer. Starting out as a junior pee wee cheerleader her team’s hard work and dedication paid off in 1994 when Kelly’s squad, coached by Laura Reed , Mrs. Dzamko and Nancy Clark was the first Bulls team to make it to regional’s. As her final year cheerleading came to a close and with the Bulls in her heart she continued

for several more years as a student demonstrator and as a coach. Today Kelly can still be found in the stands cheering on the Bulls to victory as she watches the oldest of her 3 daughters , Kaylen as a mighty mite cheerleader. Her 4 year old Jillian stands beside her sister, not yet old enough to cheer, but determined to stay up on all the new moves. With her fond

memories of homecomings and carnations, Kelly looks towards the future as her 3 girls walk in her footsteps towards being Bulls alumni.

In Memory of: Corky Pennucci “Hands on your hips” … “Eyes on the game… “Ladies, I can’t hear you !!!” “Old school” was the cheerleading style of the legendary cheerleading coach, the late Karen “Corky” Pennucci. For a women just barely 5 feet tall and who weighed 100 pounds, she walked onto any field with conviction and purpose. At one glance it was no secret she was a force to be reckoned with. She demanded perfection and loved

each girl like they were her own. She wanted each of her girls to take away from their experience not only cheerleading skills but knowledge of the game and pride for New Milford and the Bulls. From the early 80’s to the late 90’s Corky gave of her heart and soul and can be credited for the early building and success of the Bulls cheer program. While she may be gone from this earth, her spirit lives on in the hundreds of girls whose

lives she influenced and through every Bulls cheer still heard from the sidelines today. To honor her contribution to the 42 years of a successful Bulls program, the Bulls Alumni organization this year will be awarding the first annual Corky Pennucci Memorial Community Service Award to a Bulls cheerleader who has made a significant contribution to the community of New Milford though volunteerism.

In the early 70’s, Jay ”Papa Bull” McAvoy started the Bulls football program, which for decades has been the heart and soul of New Milford. It’s hard to imagine how many children and families have passed through this organization; the history, the pride and the memories. 42 years of New Milford Bulls Football and Cheerleading alumni because of one man’s dream and commitment to the youth of New Milford. “Heroes Get Remembered But Legends Never Die”!....We, past, present and future Bulls, are Papa Bull's legacy and he lives in all of us. Rosemarie Hennessey

Dan Murphy In the early 80’s a young boy stood on the sidelines cheering on his older brother Bobby. Week after week he watched and waited, anticipating a time when he would be old enough to suit up. In 1984 his time finally came. Dan Murphy #64 took the field for the first time as a member of the mavericks with his dad Robert as a coach. He played many positions but as a left guard and middle linebacker is where he did his best

Angel Baier

As summer turned to fall, the anticipation of a new season was the excitement Angel Baier and her cheer family waited for. Cheering on Sundays and the thrill of competitions were her life from 1993-1995. When her time as a cheerleader came to an end, like her mom in the 90’s, Angel carried on as a volunteer and in 2006, she became an assistant coach and a short time later a head coach. Passing on the lesson to her cheerleaders that in the end hard work always pay off. Though many years have passed, Angel has learned the bonds made as a Bull are ones not easily broken and she still find the time to keep in touch with old coaches and teammates. She

Kevin Bendell With countless work. In 1986 Dan was member of the Steers football team legendary for being the first team to have gone the entire season without having a single point scored on them, then undefeated for the next two years as well. Today, Dan continues to hold on to his Bulls pride as co-chair of the Bulls alumni organization and continues to encourage a 3rd generation of Murphy’s being Bulls.

wanted her daughter to know Bulls traditions and pride, she encouraged Mykenzee to become a Bulls cheerleader. Entering in her 5th year as a Bull, like her mom she holds with pride her experiences and is a true team player. Today, as a cheer mom Angel proudly boosts…. Once a bull always a bull !

cheerleader accolades and trophies from both youth and high school levels under his belt, Kevin Bendell’s 22 year cheerleader coaching career simply began by being a cheer dad. In 1993 when Kevin’s daughter was a Bulls cheerleader, he began watching and learning from coaches Laura and Corky Pennucci by 1994 he was hooked and became a coach. He continued with the Bulls racking up championship after championship until 1998. In 1999 he was persuaded make the jump to the high school level by one of his former cheerleaders and began coaching at Shepaug. Today, on his days off from coaching the cheerleaders of Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, Kevin can be found roaming the Bulls sidelines not only to lend a helping hand when needed but as the proud grandpa of a Bulls cheerleader!

NEW BULL!!! Zachary Walitynski, who has become an accomplished athlete at the ripe old age of 10, is a new Bull! Zach who wrestles, plays lacrosse, soccer and baseball now brings his athletic prowess and completive nature to Bulls football. What a great addition and asset he will be to the JR pee wee team To Zachary and his parents Jon and Tara, a big welcome to the Bulls family!

In the mid 80s as Cindy Clarke stood on the sideline cheering her heart out for the Bulls, only a crystal ball could have told her that it was just the beginning of her “Bulls full” life. After spending years a cheerleader and later as a Head Coach, Deputy Commissioner, HS Coach, as luck would have it in she married Tim Dubret, a former Bulls football player. As one would image… when Bulls marry Bulls … you get more Bulls! The Dubret children Brittney, Chelsea and Brandon followed in mom and dads footsteps as proud Bulls. From cheerleader to coach to a cheer and football mom and from player to a cheer and football dad the Dubrets are a true Bulls clan!
