I would like to dedicate this anthology project to my English teachers I have had through my educational career. I would also like to thank the people who taught me how to read and write and make it possible to get to this point in my life.

The Fly went by. When I was a little girl my dad used to read a book to me called the fly went by. This book was about how all sorts of animals thought that the other was chasing them until they realized the last animal was something loud chasing them. The little boy who was the hero in this story after he realized the person carrying the gun wasn’t the last person he told the thing that was chasing them all to stop. The boy was brave. Then the thing that came out of the woods was a lamb with a bucket on his leg.

All 50 states I have been to all 50 states. I have met a lot of different people, but my

favorite person I met was Randall. He worked in a cigar store in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Him and my dad talked for about 30 minutes and then

exchanged numbers. In Montana, we also met a bunch of different people. One thing that made them all unique and different was their accents. As an 7

example, in Montana they talked really fast and in Arkansas we talk really slow and some of us have a drawl. Their food is also very different from ours. There menu was just chili and soup. My advice for people is to go out and experience

different cultures and learn how it works. You can discover the differences

easily by comparing our culture to theirs. People from all different places can have different cultures.

Memorable times on the hill My most memorable time on the hill this year was the detention free party. We were all in the gym playing ultimate dodge ball and whenever I went to throw the ball back and

I fell backwards! It was memorable cause everybody laughed and no one got hurt.

Softball I’m so excited for softball season to start up again. In softball I’m a catcher, pitcher, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and outfield player. I’m basically anything the coaches want me to be. I am also around the 5th batter in the lineup, so if we are 9

behind I can hit a homer and they can all run home with bases loaded. Softball is my favorite sport, but if you don’t practice you won’t be very good. I have played softball since I was in Kindergarten. Sometimes my softball coach pulls me out, to play some of the other girls, but that’s okay because I still get to cheer them on.

Letter to myself Dear Sumer, Right now I am 13 years old and going to Huntsville Middle School. I have two nieces and one nephew. My nephews are two and one and my nephew is six. How is Conley doing? Right now, he’s doing bad, but I hope he grows up and 10

realizes that God is on his side. My political views right now are nonexistent. Because I really have no clue what’s going on. I hope I grow up to be like Shawna. I hope the world I grow up in will have a lot of people who believe in God, because if not it will be a terrible place. Right now, I play softball and I’m a basketball manager. You’re probably going into college or in high school. My goals are probably still the same. I want to be and orthodontist. The colleges I want to go to are the U of A or Arkansas Tech. I also want to move to Fort Myers Beach, Florida. I hope you’re happy with your life. I’m looking forward to seeing who I am going to be. But I’m dreading going out on my own. I hope you’re making the right choices and living your life to the fullest. Be a good person and try not to make anyone mad. Love, Younger you
