I am currently a member of the Gross Varsity Dance Team where I show school spirit and I am a positive role model amongst my peers. Also, while I was a student at Saint Columbkille, I received the St. Joseph the Worker Award. I have taken on many leadership roles in the past such as a cheer captain, being a part of the Operation Others Core Team, being a part of student council, and being involved in other things around Gross Catholic. I was a cheer captain as a freshman on JV and as a junior on Varsity. Being a cheer captain has taught me how to be organized, get things done, and have a creative mind - something that is great for student council. This past year I was asked to be on the Operation Core Team; there we organized events and raise enough money to buy food and make baskets for families in need during the holiday season. I was on student council my 6th and 7th grade year at St. Bernadette, as well as my sophomore and junior year here at Gross. Being involved in other things here at Gross, such as LIFE team and tennis, has taught me how to manage my time well and also get to know more people that I don't talk to as much. I always try to keep a positive attitude at school and do my best to keep people’s spirits up! I have fun and creative ideas that I can put forward during meetings to come up with new and different things! In the past I have taken on many leadership positions. As a freshman, I was captain of the JV cheer squad and began to learn good leadership qualities. This year will be my second year as captain of the varsity cheer squad. Being captain has taught me how to deal with tricky situations and try to make everyone happy. Also, as a freshman I was voted on student council for my sophomore year. I help set up for homecoming and many other events as a sophomore. I was also on student council this year as a junior, where I took part in the blood drive and helped plan prom. Another opportunity I have had to be a leader is being a student ambassador. I can show incoming students what it is like at Gross Catholic and help the freshman get settled. As a core member of Operation Others, I learned how to interact with new people and plan huge events concerning our community. Jacob Lenhart Current junior running for next year's senior Stu Co rep. The qualities that I have that would make me an effective member of student government would be leadership, responsiblity, and a good work ethic. I will bring new ideas to the table and I will be at every meeting and on time. I want to be on student council because I want to get more involved in my school. I want to be apart of it because it will better my school and I feel like I can be a great addition to student

council. People shoud vote for me because I will make their experience here at gross better next year and I will work hard. In the past I have held many leadership positions. I was on student council in grade school, I have been on student ambassadors for two years, and also I was a student trainer. In grade school we did similar things like you would in high school. We planned a couple of events and raised money for a charity. As a student ambassador I did recruitment visits and talked to up coming freshman. Also I helped the freshman their first day here at gross. Finally as a student trainer I had to help Mrs. Nano and help tape athletes and watch practices for injuries. Madelyn Pechar Current junior running for next year's senior Stu Co rep. I have always been a very honest and trustworthy leader and have the ability to take control of a situation without being overly-controlling. I am generally very intellectual and can help create options and answers to unsolved problems. I am responsible and reliable and will not let my fellow classmates down! I believe that I am a good role-model and leave a good impact on people. I believe the above qualities are why people should vote for me to be on student council. I would like to be on student council because I would love the opportunity to lead the students at Gross Catholic and make my high school a better place to be a part of. As a varsity cheerleader at Gross Catholic, I am faced with a leadership position at every game and event that I cheer at. The students look to me and my fellow cheerleaders as role models and expect us to lead the crowd and the team to a victory. I was also on Student Council my sophomore year and therefore have experience in leading the student body. As the oldest sibling in my family, I am daily challenged to lead my siblings in the right direction. I have also had other small leadership opportunities on a day to day basis by setting a good example for my peers. Matthew Sullivan Current junior running for next year's senior Stu Co rep. more enjoyable. Overall, I would love to represent my school in a positive way. Past leadership positions I have held include Student Council and Builders Club. Builders Club was a club that would meet weekly and discuss ways to better the community. From raising money to build new playgrounds and to putting on spaghetti feeds, builders club helped me understand how important leadership and responsibility are in life. I have also been awarded the Big Red Star award, which recognizes students with the qualities of scholarship, leadership, and service. I am now a current member of National Honors Society. Because of these experiences, I believe I am qualified to represent my school. Nikki Ketchmark Current junior running for next year's senior Stu Co rep. I am very responsible person. I and take control when needed and know how to get the job done when it needs to be. I attend every meeting and am very active in my school and voice my peers issues to student council and all of its representatives. I am very creative and try my hardest to think outside the box to help our school become better all the time I have been on student council for the past 2 years soph and junior year. I have been a captain of my club soccer team, state winning varsity cheerleading team and a captain on the varsity soccer team at Gross Catholic Noah Arneson Current junior running for next year's senior Stu Co rep. The qualities i possess that would help me be an effective member of student council would be that I have been in Stu Co for 2 years already so I know the basis of what has to happen for us to be successful, I also am a quick thinker so I can come up with solutions to problems quickly. I want to be in student council, because I like being a leader and have enjoyed my past two years. People should vote for me because I am already experienced with student council and I know what to do. I also am a hard working person and hopefully can make Gross a little bit better by my help. A leadership position that I have held in the past that would help the most for me would be the experience of already being in student council the past two years. I know what has to be done for us to be successful, whether it's setting up for Prom, Homecoming, or a leadership council. I also am a store leader at Walgreens, I control pretty much all the things that the Manager does, just being a store clerk. I give people breaks and control what people are working on, I also lead most of the projects we do for displays or how we stock things. Rachel McCartney Current junior running for next year's senior Stu Co rep as well as Student Body President. I would be an effective member of Student Council and an effective Student Body President because I have been a part of Student Council for two years now. I have a lot of experience in organizing and setting up events that take place in the school. I am involved in cheer, tennis, golf, life, student council, and pastoral council. All of these activities have drawn me closer to the school and given me more opportunities to be a leader. I would like to be voted on to student council and to be student council president because I enjoy planning events and leading activities at Gross. I would appreciate people’s votes and I promise to positively lead the school to my best abilities if I were to be elected. Some other leadership positions that I have had in high school are that I have been on student council for my sophomore and junior year, and I was one of the two junior executives on student council. Next year will also be my third year as a varsity cheer captain which has given me a lot of skills on how to lead a group in a fun, positive, and efficient way. I am also on pastoral council where I help organize things like mass in the school and help set up for them. Helping to organize things like

homecoming dances, prom, mass, pep rallies, and cheer routines have given me a lot of experience. I have taken on many leadership roles in my time at Gross Catholic and they have all shown me how to manage my time well and include people’s ideas and opinions. Renee Lohaus Current junior running for next year's senior Stu Co rep. Some of the qualities that would make me a student council representative are that I am a creative person and I have lots of ideas. I also have been on student council before so I will not be shy to speak up during the meetings for any suggestions. I also think I would be a good representative because I will work at things . In the past I have been a student ambassador , in student council, I have led many group things, and I am not afraid of what someone is going to think of me. I feel like with my past experience I would make a fine representative.

I possess mainly creativity and a sense of humor, as well as hardworking-ness. I want to join student government to sharpen my skills with working as a team. I am creative and can come up with new ideas. I am also a very organized person. I want to be on student council because I want to be involved in my school. People should vote for me because I feel that I am good leader and can bring good ideas to our school. I was a leader at St. Bernadette vacation bible school for four years in a row. I helped younger children learn about their faith. I liked being able to help other people and I think that I have become a better leader by helping out at vacation bible school every year. Andrew Burke-O'Kane Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I am a hard worker, and refuse to quit. I want to be part of Student council because it looks good on college applications, and I think it would be a fun experience. People should vote for me because I will fight for things students want. I have been an altar boy, Captain of Safety patrol, and have played two sports over my time here at Gross. They all have helped teach me he qualities of responsibility, hardwork, and (in the case of altar boy) strengthened my faith. I think all of these things are key qualities for a student council representative. Becca Schrack Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I think that I am a very hard working person. I have a lot of creative ideas that I think could help contribute to things like pep rallies and homecoming/prom! I want to be on student council because I enjoy sharing my ideas and being involved with students from every grade. I think people should vote for me because I would love to help make positive changes within the student environment and help make all students feel like one big family. Last year I was on student council and had fun organizing

posters, pep rallies, and student events! I have also been a leader at Vacation Bible School at St. Bernadette and really enjoyed organizing activities and showing responsibility for other people. Conner Krause Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I possess the qualities of responsibility, hard-working, trusting and I work well with friends and family. In the past I have been in leadership positions that include working multiple sports clinics with kids, I have been the umpire scheduler for Papillion recreational baseball program, I helped run my great grandparents auction sale. I think these are good leadership positions because they hold a lot of responsibility and trustworthiness and the ability to communicate well with other people. Danielle Caskey Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. Some qualities I possess that will help me be an effective member of the student government are my organization skills, leadership abilities, creativity, and work ethic. I want to be a member of student council because I can use my ideas and skills to benefit the student body at Gross. With my talents I want to help plan events such as Prom and Homecoming, as well as promote other activities for the entire school. People should vote for me because I want to make the school a better place we can all enjoy. This past year I was a freshman representative on Gross' student council. I am a certified lifeguard, babysit my siblings as well as other children often, and have been an assistant group leader at Saint Columbkille's Vacation Bible School in the past. Gabby Barnes Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I think that the qualities I possess are my responsibility and reliability. I do a lot of activities inside and out of school, but I still manage my grades and school work, as well as the other responsibilities of my other activities. I want to be on student council because my mom was on student council and she said it was a great experience. I also have friends on it that say it is so fun and a great way to be involved. I want to be as involved as I can be in high school, so I thought this was a great way to try something new! I think people should vote for me, because even though I am quiet at school, I have my own voice and I like having an opinion and trying new things. As I said my responsibility and reliability also help too.Well, I am only going to be a junior so I have never really held a high position for anything before. The highest position I have ever held is being the oldest sibling of 4 kids. But a new position I do hold is that I am going to be a new member of the Marianist LIFE Core Team. For both of these positions I have to show my responsibility. Jacob Mitzlaff Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I have good leadership skills, contribute good input and provide constructive feedback. In wrestling I had the responsibility over my younger team mates, which was more than half of the team, to keep them in line so they would listen and perform on the mat properly, I was in charge of stretching, drilling, and helping with any questions that they had about wrestling techniques. I also was team captain of our freshman football team with similar responsibilities.

Jason Reed Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I am not afraid to talk to infront of a group of people. Im always looking for the good for the entire school. When I see someone alone or looking down I go and cheer them up. I’m devoted to making Gross a better place for all! I think people should vote for me because I’m not going to come up with ideas that only one group of people will like i will push for ideas that will benefit the entire schoolI was on Student Council last year at Gross and i really enjoyed every part of it! I would think this would help having experience and understanding what type of role i will be accepting if i get elected. Also while i was at St. Bernadette i was on their student council from grades 4 - 8. Jeff Weiss Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. One of the most basic traits of any good leader is responsibility. I am organized and tidy, I get my work done, and I don't blame other for any shortcomings I might have. Going beyond that, I can think quickly on my feet, I have ideas, and am willing to share them. But sometimes being a good leader is more than being the ideas guy or just turning in your work on time; sometimes it's about working with others and just doing your part as a team player; a job, of course, I have no problem performing. But all these traits pale in comparison to my biggest attribute. Gusto, vim and vigor, fervor, zeal, however you want to call it, I have it. I apply gusto into all I do, and can assure you that I would continue to as a student council member. Speaking of student council, why do I even want to be a member? Because gusto should be shared with all, and what better way to do that than for me to be on student council? After all, to not share would be a violation of the principle of gusto. So why should you vote for me? Have you not read the last six sentences? I have gusto, Gross needs gusto, and you're the only one who can ensure that it gets the gusto it so greatly needs. Dux Gusto, Cougars." "To begin, I was a games leader at St. Columbkille's Vacation Bible School. This role included explaining rules to kids, making sure they followed those rules, and, most importantly, making their time enjoyable. Besides helping at VBS, I have also lent a hand to St. Columbkille's track program as an assistant coach. The assigned tasks have varied greatly from practice to practice. I've done jobs such as teaching sprinters correct form, showing long jumpers how to jump to their full potential, and time keeping. Seeming on a whim, last year, I became a student ambassador for the Carson/Ratcliffe CAU where I enlightened incoming freshman on our Cougar Traditions. My most recent leadership position has been Lights Director in drama. My job includes setting up lights and loading cues during performances." Joe McCoy Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I am involved in many different groups and can bring a lot of different perspectives of different kinds of people throughout the school. I can bring different ideas to the table and can be a mediator between groups in the school. I have had lead roles in plays as well as being a starter or important player on sports teams. I was on student council last year. I also have been on a lot of student ambassador visits. I read at mass and i have attended a C.L.I (Catholic Leadership Institute). Mackenzie Kaspar Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I believe I am a good leader and once i get a job I am responsibly enough to get it done as soon as possible. I am a hard worker and always try to do my best. I believe people should vote for me because I like being a leader and letting people know my ideas. Last year I was a student council representative

for the sophomore class, this taught me to get work done because if you don't it can have an impact on everyone else. Marlo Lundak Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I have good social skills and I enjoy helping to improve our wonderful school even more! I would like to be on student council because I think it is a great way to help get more involved in your school. People should vote for me because I will help come up with some great ideas for our school I have been to lots of leadership conferences in Washington D.C. and in Boston, I am also a student ambassador! Matthew Herting Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I think that I would be a good member of student council because I am very responsible and hard working. Another reason why I think that I would be a good representative for student government is because I am currently a student council member and have a year of experience already. People should elect me because I feel like I do a good job listening to what my classmates want and relaying those concerns to student council meetings. If I am reelected on to student council, I will continue to represent my classmates to the best of my ability. In the past, I have held many different leadership positions. I have participated in three different sports during my freshman and sophomore years at Gross. I have also been a student ambassador during my sophomore year. As a student ambassador, I take trips to different schools and I help recruit students to come to Gross. I also assist with different recruiting activities, such as Gross' open house. This is for students that are interested in attending our school. Another leadership position that I have held since my freshman year is being a part of the student council team. Student council has been a great experience for me and has been a lot of fun. I really hope that in my junior year I will be elected onto student council again. Matthew Jesus Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I like to help people so I can help the school with the fun things that I can think of with my great imaginative mind, I am a great speaker ask anyone they enjoy listening to my interesting stories, I am a good listener as well and when the students speak I listen, and I like to have fun so I can relate to the other students who enjoy fun, which is all of them. I am a student ambassador so I know how to work with students, and I lead groups during my parish's Vacation Bible School so I know what it is like to lead a group of people through activities. Nick Hofmaier Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I am a good leader but I also respect other peoples authority. I give good directions and instructions and i also understand directions and instructions well. I listen when I need too, and I know when to speak up and when to be quiet. At Holy Cross we kind of had a student council, our teachers would ask us as a class about changes and stuff, and I would be one of the more public kids in the class voicing my opinion on the different topics they discussed with us. I was the "captain" of the JV soccer team last year, I'd help my teammates when we play by showing them what they could have done better or by telling them if a man was coming on them etc. Noah Fanslau Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I believe that I have many qualities that make me a good leader. I am a well organized, hard-working

person. I don't mind doing work behind the scenes that doesn't always get credit. I am an easy person to get along with, and I feel that I am very friendly. I do high quality work efficiently, and I always have my work done on time. These qualities make me a reliable leader. I want to be on student council because I want to work on school improvements and functions with other people. I would like to bring forward new ideas on behalf of the student body. I want to make positive changes to Gross Catholic High School. People should vote for me for a few reasons. The first reason is that I was a Sophomore Executive on Gross' Student Council and I have the experience to help benefit our school. Another reason people should vote for me is because I am a good role model for younger kids. I try to make good choices both in and outside of school. I show them the right way to do things, and many of the younger students can look up to me as a person to follow." I have had a few experiences in my past that show my leadership is needed in student government. For example, I am a student ambassador at Gross. I was Student Council Sophomore Executive, and I have had the experience of being a part of a group of people who work together to accomplish one ultimate goal. I had to get jobs done by working with and delegating tasks to my fellow StuCo members. Lastly, my leadership on the football field has given me a position as a leader. This past year, I started as a defensive back on the Varsity football team for three consecutive games. This role gave me the chance to be an "in between man." For me, this means that I knew my place. The veteran players had the authority, and I had to respect them, but for the players with and below me, I knew that I could show them some things too. In my other sports, basketball and baseball, I try to be a good leader by being easy to coach and by being cooperative and hardworking. Paloma Power Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. Some qualities that I have that would help me be an effective member of student government are; my determination, my will to try new things, and my school spirit. I'm a good listener and I love to solve problems. I know how to get my opinion out there and am not afraid to say exactly what I think. I am involved in many activities already including; Varsity Cross Country, Drama, Show Choir, and Varsity Track. This shows that I am a hard worker and have good time management. I am very organized and responsible. I always finish what I start, even if it's a struggle. I always try to keep a positive attitude and make others around me feel comfortable. One of my many goals in life is simply, "to make people happy" which I feel like Student Council gives me an excellent opportunity to do. I think people should vote for me because of the many reasons listed above and because I think I would be a good contribution to student government and could help get the student body's opinion more into social events and projects. I was on student council in middle school for 3 years. I am not afraid to be in front of an audience and be myself. In fifth grade I received the Knights of Columbus Example Student Award. Also, I received high honors all 4 years. I've been on the Varsity Cross Country team since freshman year which taught me how to "step up to the plate" more and be a leader. I've volunteered and performed at Vacation Bible School at St. Matthew's School for 3 years now, as well. Patrick Mruz Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I am a patient person and am open to other's ideas. I want to be on student council to make Gross a fun and good place to be. People should vote for me because I will work hard to make positive changes to Gross. I was captain of my baseball team for a few years! It helped me gain the skills necessary to be a good leader

Peter Sobczyk Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I am a hard worker who pays attention to detail. I am responsible and caring to others and their feelings. I would like to be on student council because I enjoy being helpful and involved and would like to get to know my classmates better. I will bring creativity and a fresh perspective to student council and its activities. I have leadership experience through my summer job as a camp counselor, where I worked with many groups of people. This has helped me to understand the opinions and needs of others. Sarah Watson Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I believe that I am a responsible student in my schoolwork as well as my extra-curricular activities. I don't hesitate to put my best effort into everything I do. I have good social skills and don't have a problem talking to new people. I really believe that I have the characteristics of a good leader. I am friendly, I stick to my beliefs, and I am willing to step out as a role model in this school. I want to be on student council not only for the fun, but for the leadership position and to work towards high standard that these students are held to. People should vote for me because I am willing to work hard and I am confident in my abilities. Cheerleading has really helped me to branch out to other students and act as a leader at our school. I've been involved in many school activities because of cheer like pep rallies, tailgates, etc. Another thing I've been involved in is LIFE. I was chosen to go on the LIFE trip this summer and to be a core member next year. When explaining why I was chosen, I was told it was because of my leadership abilities. They felt as though I could bring new people into the program and make more people feel welcome. Although these aren't technically leadership "positions", I was chosen for both most representative freshman and homecoming court. I think this shows that my classmates see my drive and leadership. Teresa (Tess) Blankman Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I believe that have various different qualities that would help me be an effective member of student government. I am trustworthy, honesty, responsible, and determined. Most importantly I am a people person. I am able to listen and provide insight to what is happening with the school. I would love to be on student council because I enjoy having a say in what is going on around me. I also enjoy being a mediator between students and school officials. I believe that people should vote for me because I will help them get their input out there. I was in leadership circle at OLL (a sports leadership group), student council at Gross the past year, and I was also in student council at OLL. I am a current member of the speech team, dance team, on Pastoral council, and am active at LIFE. I believe that all of these different activities provide me with an array of qualities and characteristics that will help me if I am voted. I am not afraid to speak my mind and love being involved. I am someone who you can always speak with if you are having a problem. I enjoy helping and this is just another way I will be able to. TJ Larsen Current sophomore running for next year's junior Stu Co rep. I am funny, I care about people, and I love Gross! I love the staff at Gross and the family-like feel when I walk into school everyday. I am also very creative and hope I can contribute some great ideas to homecoming week and other events we do! I cannot think of any specific situation or title I have that distinguishes leadership in a club and/or other council or group but I am very good at directing my friends and family and anyone who comes to me for, help, advice, or leadership in the right direction. I really think I could contribute to student council! :)

Ian Sutton Current freshman running for next year's sophomore Stu Co rep. I possess good leadership skill. At my grade school Holy Ghost I was student council class rep 5th and 6th grade. In 7th grade I was on the Student Council core team and was in charge of planning meetings and events

at the school and to take pictures of the events and make a scrapbook of all the pictures. In 8th grade I chose not to run for Student Council but I did still help set up the events and make posters and such. Maddie Cunningham Current freshman running for next year's sophomore Stu Co rep. I think that I am the kind of person that can hold a conversation and work well with anyone. This will help me in running for student council because you have to work with your peers on projects and/or at the meetings. If I was elected on student council then I could share my ideas and they would have a better chance of being completed with the rest of the student council's help. I want to be on student council because I think I would be a good contribution and I am hard-working. Being a freshman, I have been to one homecoming, but I have gone with my Mom to a couple of my brother's. I have yet to figure out how the gym can transform into something new every year. I think that it would be awesome to finally find out and to be a part of something so great. I also want to be on student council so I will have a good reminder of what Gross Catholic is all about and I will remember my high school years on a positive note. I think that people should vote for me because I won't let them down and I will try my best to be a big help on the 2013 student council. I have fundraised for the Alzheimer's Association for the past 9 years. I have raised just over $13,000. In 2004, we found out that my Grandma had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. I knew there was a way that I could help her so I started fundraising. I have had bake sales, dollar casual days, and with the help of generous family and friends, I have been able to make a difference. Every year it keeps getting bigger and it isn't over yet. By doing this fundraising, I feel that I show leadership skills by raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and standing up for what I care about. I would read the readings at the Student Body Masses at my old grade school. I would read them with confidence. I think this is a position of leadership because it would show the younger students that being involved in Mass is important. I would also be asked to be in charge my parish's Fish Fries. I would serve all the people and make sure that they have all that they needed. Maddy Driscoll Current freshman running for next year's sophomore Stu Co rep. I feel that I am more of a leader than a follower, I like to be an example to others. I try to make good choices that not only affect me but others. I like to meet new people and interact with them. I want to give to the school and represent. I will try hard and do my best for the school. If I get picked to be a representative, I will definitely do my best to represent. In grade school I was a peer mediator to the younger grades, because I liked to help and solve problems. I didn't have a lot in grade school that gave me the chance to have a leadership position and we didn't have captains in sports, but I always tried to be a leader to my class and teams.

People should vote for me for student council because I am a good leader. Not only am I a good leader but I am also responsible and people can rely on me to get things done. During my eight grade year I organized a charity drive at my school. I had to make all the fliers and decide which grades would bring in the certain items. After this was done I was in charge of collecting the items and bringing them to the chair. This would help me for a position in student government because I am used to having something big to deal with and I am experienced in keeping the events organized. When I was in 8th grade at Saint Columbkille school, I was elected Vice President of Student Council. Regina Brokke Current freshman running for next year's sophomore Stu Co rep. One quality that I think I possess is that I am a good listener. If you have an issue or an idea that you would like to bring up in the meetings, I would listen to all of what you have to say. Another quality is that I am pretty good at helping out on ideas. Like say if someone had an idea I could help build off of that idea. I want to be on student council because I want to help improve things in the school that need improvement. I want to help bring positive change in areas that need change. People should vote for me because I will listen to what they have to say and try to make that change a possibility. I would try my best to help the school in good ways. I was a part of my old school's student council, for 2 years. I have also been a part of different sports teams with different people. I think that is important because being on a team helps you learn how to cooperate and do problem solving with people, which is pretty much what student council is. You are on a team with new people that you probably haven't worked together with before and you learn how to cooperate with others and to work together. Robin Maher Current freshman running for next year's sophomore Stu Co rep. I am a responsible and creative student. I want to be on student council because I feel like I would be able to contribute good ideas. People should vote for me because I would be a great student to represent Gross. Steven Boukal Current freshman running for next year's sophomore Stu Co rep. I work well with others and when I am by myself. I always try to find multiply solutions for one problem. I always try to look at the pros and cons of a debate and I view it from each person’s point of view. I am also trying to become a better leader as well as solve problems that may or may not arise. I have been on student council in 7th grade and in 8th grade I was the student body president. I was able to obtain these positions not because I was popular but the other students thought I would make a good leader, and that I always tried to look for multiply solutions for one problem. It was good experience being on student council because it teaches you to be a leader and it's a great way to get involved with your school. Thomas Cordwin Current freshman running for next year's sophomore Stu Co rep. I possess good time management. This will help me be effective in being able to have time to go to all the student council meetings and not affect my grades negatively. I also have good public speaking skills. I can always take control of a group and help people to get on task if it is needed at the time. I feel that I can talk to a group and explain what we are doing very well. I am also good at helping people out if they are lost or confused on something. All of my brothers have been on student council and I have only heard good things about student council. I want to be part of the good experience and be able to benefit myself with being on student council. I want the best for this school and I want to be part of the group that helps the school become the best it can. have also wanted to be part of helping set up homecoming because it would be a chance to put some of my creative ideas out in the world. I think people should vote for me because I feel that I am a responsible student and can take things seriously. I won't be messing around in student council when we need to be focused. I feel I can stay on task and that I will help out when help is needed. I also think I am a very positive thinker so that I will always have a good attitude towards student council and whatever activity we are doing." Every summer I used to volunteer at a vacation bible school as a group leader. I would work as a volunteer an entire week of my summer to be leader of a group of kids. I would be an assistant to a parent by keeping control of the kids in our groups. We would lead the kids around to different activities and have to instruct them about the activity. We would also have to help the kids in the activities if they got stuck or didn't understand. I would also sometimes have to help out with other groups because some of the kids were so out of hand.
