Coast Quilters’ News April 2012 Dianne's Threads As all those who had tuition from Ailsa are now Sooo full of colour confidence, I am looking forward to seeing your favourite colours being displayed at forthcoming ‘Show & Tells’. We are changing the AGM format. Those of you who tell us you will be attending , will be provided with Lunch at the club's expense at the RSA on Sunday 29th April. All positions filled or covered, so it's safe for you to attend. Full details inside somewhere.

FANTASTIC FUSION – LISA WALTON CLASS The ladies who attended Lisa Walton’s class had a wonderful day and, as well as the “Fantastic Fusion” quilt, Lisa who teaches in Australia, NZ , the UK and Europe, was happy to share some other beading and quiltmaking techniques. A great day by all accounts! Lisa is going to be teaching “Fantastic Fusion” at Houston so we were very fortunate to have had her at a heavily subsidised rate.

I expect to reveal to you that there will be changes in meeting formats, especially the mornings, after the AGM. Classes, speakers and demonstrations are being organized , and on receipt of the questionaire to be handed out on Tuesday, these will be finalized, BUT we need to know what you want.

Barb Taylor’s almost completed quilt top From Lisa Walton’s class and (below) Dianne and Fran show off their efforts

Yours in quilting Dianne The Future of Quilting? The days of quilting, save at church sewing societies, are well-nigh over, though the cotton quilt of our grandmothers is in very good form, provided one has luckily been inherited. ....
