The Tingly
The Tingly is a creation in which explores the potential of ASMR and translate the soulful experience via visual language. The ASMR experience is always limited to individuals, which means every audience would have personal understanding to the subject through their life experience, personality, personal preference and habit, age, gender, culture and surrounded environmental influence. The full term of ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It is used to describe as an experience and reaction in different stages to human body, and often being delivered in sound and vision. This publication disconnect the concept of the traditional magazine format, and pushes forward the boundaries in the publication studies.. 2 Documentary project
The System
Port Talbot is an industrial town near the seacoast in South Wales. The resident population of the town had 141,000 in 2015 and it is best known as one of the biggest steelworks in the world. From the UK miners’ strike in the mid-80s, to the steel crisis in recent years, this town has been receiving different social impacts from the changes of economy, politics, and physical geography. The System examines the studies of psycho-geography in relation to the living quality and social changes of the community in the historical area, Margam. This residential area remains the closest in proximity to the steel factory, and is where many steelworkers used to live during the factory’s peak operation. The community has been shaped by the industrial process, from pollution, economic changes, and population aging, in which distract the system of people’s social identity.
