FREE RICE! Year 9 are building vocabulary to help the hungry. In January Year 9 are starting their Literacy Challenge! Each form will be spending a 10 minute registration using the vocabulary building website www.freerice.com For every synonym they get right the website will donate 10 grains of rice to the World Food Programme.
“It’s good to talk to someone who is interested in what you are reading.” Each member of Year www.wfp.org 9 is aiming to donate one full portion of rice for each registration session. That’s 2230 grains!
READATHON RETURNS... Year 7 and Year 8 raised a massive £430 last year for CLIC Sargent and the Roald Dahl Foundation. This year, with the introduction of Paired Reading and D.E.A.R I am sure that we can all raise so much more money!
