awareness of problems we ignore every day. We are here

positivity, and give that little lift to those who need it most.

We at Uplift have been bringing together the creative students and proffessionals of London to run art and design workshops for one of the most renowned homeless charities in the UK. During these workshops, clients of Crisis’s education and training centers, Skylight, have been collaborating with designers to create a series of proffessionally produced posters. These workshops have allowed the clients to develop their creativity and broaden their mind. Being out on the street destroys motivation, leaving people with a hopeless and negative outlook on life. The aim of these workshops were to bring back the motivation, and bring back positivity.

On the 8th of February 2014, we are exited to announce we will be holding an exhibition and auction for this work. All the profit from this day will be donated to Crisis, in aid of helping support the amazing things they do for those who are not as fortunate as ourselves. Come down, to take an exclusive look at what everyone has been up to, get the chance to purchace some beautifully crafted posters themed on positivity, and help us to give those who need it, that little lift in life.

Crisis is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change. The Charity has been running since 1967 and since then, they have vastly evolved to meet the changing needs of single homeless people, standing up for change and exploring innovative solutions to help people find a route out of homelessness across the UK Homelessness is a huge problem; a problem of which many of use ignore. But if you were to think for a second, and consider yourself in the shoes of those affected, would you want to be ignored?

Throughout the United Kingdom, Crisis’s award winning and accredited education, training and employment centres, Skylight, have been offering practical and creative workshops in a supportive and inspiring environment together with formal learning opportunities that lead to qualifications and finding work. Lack of skills and qualifications can lead to people becoming homeless and keep them there, isolated from society, work and independence. Sometimes, all that they need is a second chance..
