En los inicios de la Unión Soviética se dieron los primeros ejemplos de manipulación de la imagen; fotografías en las que “desaparecían” personas que resultaban incómodas para el régimen. La fotografía, hasta ese entonces, era la prueba más fiel de la realidad, pero con la guerra fría se convirtió en uno más de los instrumentos de manipulación de la información, al punto de popularizarse la frase “Lenin inventó en Photoshop.” En la actualidad, las Fake News ayudan a ser elegidos presidentes en las mayores potencias mundiales. Ya no solo la imagen, sino el relato, son objeto de manipulación. Esta charla establecerá un paralelo entre la narrativa de ciencia ficción y las nuevas maneras de crear realidades, abordando algunos ejemplos emblemáticos entre política y la ciencia ficción. Invitados: Omar Rincón, Profesor Universidad de los Andes, Crítico de televisión en El Tiempo y Felipe Tello, publicista, director y guionista. Modera: Andrés Laverde, investigador y coordinador de proyectos digitales en el Centro Ático de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. The first examples of image manipulation were established at the beginning of the Soviet Union; photographs in which people “disappeared” if they were uncomfortable for the regime. Photography, until then, was the most faithful test of reality, but with the cold war it became one of the instruments of manipulation of information, to the point of popularizing the phrase “Lenin invented in Photoshop.”. In the present, the Fake news helps presidents to be elected in the major world powers. Not only the image, but the story, are subject to manipulation. This talk will establish a parallel between the science fiction narrative and the new ways of creating realities, addressing some emblematic examples between politics and science fiction. Los premios Oscar que otorga la Academia de las Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS) son uno de los reconocimientos más antiguos e importantes de la industria cinematográfica. Además de un gran reconocimiento, estos premios abren inmensas posibilidades a los realizadores y productores dentro de una industria exorbitante y activa, como la estadounidense. ¿Quién no quiere un Oscar? Sabemos que la ruta no es fácil, pero tampoco imposible. Hace un año, BOGOSHORTS entró a la lista de festivales calificadores a los premios Óscar, y parte del propósito es aportar a los realizadores distintas posibilidades para llegar. Esta edición trae a un invitado muy especial, Carter Pilcher, fundador de Shorts International, la principal compañía de entretenimiento de cortometrajes del mundo que trabaja tanto la distribución, como los canales y la producción de cortometrajes, además de ser miembro de la Academia en la rama de Cortometrajes y Animación. En esta charla, Pilcher realizará un análisis sobre los principios para llegar a los Oscar con un cortometraje, desde la concepción de una idea, pasando por la producción hasta la distribución de la misma. The Oscars awards by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) are one of the oldest and most important awards in the film industry. In addition to great recognition, these awards open immense possibilities to filmmakers and producers within an exorbitant and active industry, such as the United States. Who doesn’t want an Oscar? We know that the route is not easy, but not impossible. A year ago, BOGOSHORTS entered the list of qualifying festivals for the Oscar awards, and part of the purpose is to provide the filmmakers with different possibilities to arrive. This edition brings a very special guest, Carter Pilcher, founder of Shorts International, the world’s leading short film entertainment company that works both distribution, channels and short film production, as well as being a member of the Academy in the Short and Animation branch. In this talk, Pilcher will analyze the principles to reach the Oscars with a short film, from the conception of an idea, through the production to the distribution of it.
