TRACEY ARIAL Writer Tracey Arial participates each summer in an urban agriculture cooperative. So she appreciates landscape designer Maxime Desrosiers’s accomplishment in combining stunning views with practical family needs at the waterfront property in LÊvis she profiled. Desrosiers’s decision to take the time needed to do the project struck a chord with Tracey, given that she’s still working on her latest book, which examines Canada’s economic expansion and the social wounds to families caused by World War II. Tracey is the author of several books, and she contributes regularly to local newspapers in Montreal.

DREW HADLEY Drew Hadley is a Montreal photographer who specializes in advertising and interior design. “What struck me about the Longueuil home I photographed for this issue was the well-designed kitchen with its strong, clean lines and minimalist approach,� he says. “Having seen the original layout of the home, I was amazed to see what the designer, Jean Monet, did to rejuvenate the space.� Drew also photographed two gardens for this Outdoors issue.
JEAN MONET Designer Jean Monet loves summer weather, and says it was a particular treat for him to be outdoors styling two urban gardens for this issue. What the gardens have in common is that they are both designed for al fresco living and entertaining. Jean says he is also thrilled to show Montreal Home’s readers his own Longueuil home, which he renovated and redesigned to suit his downsized lifestyle. Jean’s home boasts a beautifully appointed garden that draws him outside to enjoy the warm weather all summer long.

CORRECTION Two stories in Montreal Home’s 2016 Kitchens issue – one on page 66 and the other on page 80 – omitted a mention of the floral arrangements. The floral arrangements were provided by Le MarchÊ aux Fleurs du Village in St. Lambert. A story on page 32 of Montreal Home’s 2016 Spring issue about a West Island house neglected to cite the fact that the accessories used in the interiors of the home were provided by Boutique Lois Butler in Pointe Claire. Montreal Home regrets the omissions.
