The MAP Program really helped guide me through my journey at MND. From the goal-setting to the Capstone Project, I found it to be an excellent way to keep me focused on the tasks I needed to take care of as I progressed through school.

Mount Notre Dame helps each student reach her full potential. Our unique four-year My Action Plan (MAP) Program allows each student to develop individual capabilities to learn, live, lead and serve.

A staff member MAP guide welcomes each freshman into the community, assists her in the transition to high school and invites her to begin her path to empowerment. The MAP Program includes crosscurricular activities in the sophomore year, leadership opportunities in the junior year and culminates in a senior year Capstone Project.

Each year every student also creates and reviews academic, spiritual and personal goals. Goal-setting is a collaborative effort involving the student, faculty, MAP guide and counselor.

MND

provides

a

college

preparatory

learning

environment with an average class size of 19 students.

Led by a talented faculty, each student is challenged through a broad selection of engaging classes, including 25 Honors courses, 20 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and numerous on-campus College Credit Plus (CCP) courses. Instruction is enhanced through collegiate-style Block Scheduling and the One-to-One Tablet PC Program that supports a variety of learning styles.

The block schedule is easy and quick to adjust to, and the tablet is ultimately one of the best things about MND. It helps me with everything. I can take good notes, write emails, and access resources in the blink of an eye.

Each student forms a four-year relationship with her guidance counselor who helps her select courses, explore colleges and careers and transition through the high school years.

Academic direction is provided by one of four guidance counselors, a testing coordinator and her teachers.

A student who may need academic support can find additional assistance with MND’s Intervention Department. This team serves as a valuable resource to students, parents and teachers

in

implementing

the

student’s

educational plan.

Celebrate your

faith.

Every school day at MND begins and ends with prayer. Each student also participates in religion classes, faith sharing, monthly school masses and prayer services and an annual retreat. Daily scripture service with communion, opportunities to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation and time in prayer with the Blessed Sacrament provide additional faith-based experiences.

A student can put her faith into action by helping to plan liturgies and leading prayer, serving as a peer leader on retreats and reaching out to the larger community through acts of service.

founded in 1860 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and is part of the worldwide Notre Dame Learning Community.

St. Julie Billiart, one of the foundresses of the order, is known for saying “How Good is the Good God!” This goodness is celebrated every day in the MND school community. It is seen in the interactions among the students, faculty and staff and is an obvious presence throughout the hallways. An MND student exudes joy in knowing that “God is good”.

Dating back to the 1960s, MND has participated in Model UN simulations in Cincinnati and Dayton.

In 2004, interest in world affairs extended to an international conference in Chicago, where MND students attended along with 2,000 students from the U.S., Europe, China, Latin America. In 2009, six students traveled to Berlin, Germany for MND’s first international conference abroad. Following that would be annual European conferences in Genoa and Rome, Italy, Haarlem and Leiden, Netherlands and Lisbon, Portugal. In 2017 and 2018, MND students traveled to John Cabot University in Rome, Italy.

STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM The MND Exchange Program offers a student the chance to see the world by spending time abroad in Chile, Spain and France. MND collaborates with Santa Maria del Pilar, a Catholic school in Zaragoza, Spain, the Institution Sainte- Marie Catholic School in Belfort, France and Colegio Villa Maria Academy in Santiago, Chile. MND exchange students study and live with a family and also host their Spanish, Chilean and French sisters here at home. It is a great opportunity for a student to experience the language and to be immersed in the culture of another country.

GLOBAL LEARNING TRIPS MND’s faculty members sponsor tours for students to have global opportunities outside the classroom. Recent trips have taken students to adventures in New York, France, Spain, Mexico, Chile, England, Switzerland and Italy.

service trips where students experience and learn about other cultures. Throughout the school year students can spend an extended weekend building relationships in Liberty, KY, Columbus, OH, or right here in Cincinnati. During the summer, longer versions of these same trips are available as well as an international service trip to places such as El Salvador or Haiti. Service and cultural immersion experiences are being added annually to provide a variety of opportunities.
