We are Educators Encouraging our future generation to engage with Anzac TraditioN This year Mounties Group will be participating in the RSL & Services Clubs Associations’ ‘Respect the Day’ campaign, designed to promote respect and appreciation of ANZAC Day and to encourage Australians to reflect on the significance of the day. As a part of this campaign, the Club will hold a competition for all students currently enrolled in years K to 12 attending schools within the Fairfield and Liverpool vicinity to submit creative presentations explaining and demonstrating the importance of ANZAC Day in the community and why the day occupies a sacred place in Australians’ hearts. Six finalists will be selected to present at Mounties ANZAC Day ceremony on Thursday 25 April in the brand-new location at Mounties rear foyer. Presentations will take place on the day and a panel of judges will select one winner from a primary school and one winner from a secondary school. The winners will be invited along with five other school friends to a hosted field trip to the War Memorial and Parliament House in Canberra including lunch. Mounties Group is particularly passionate about the need to educate our youth and members of the ANZAC Day tradition to ensure the day is recognised and celebrated with due diligence. The competition is a great way of getting the community involved to learn from each other’s experiences and stories.

Mounties welcomes new addition to the
Sub Club Family Mounties is excited to announce the introduction of yet another positive, healthy activity for members of the community to enjoy. The Physical Culture Club is designed for women of all ages (from two-and-over to women sixty plus) looking for an entertaining way to stay active and social. Mounties’ ‘Physie’ Club combines elements of low-impact modern dance, aerobic fitness and gymnastics, choreographed into several routines for all fitness levels and offers participants a chance to get to know other locals from the community. ‘Physie’ is a fantastic form of exercise, allowing members to be active whilst socialising without the pressure of tough routines. Benefits also include building confidence, promoting self-discipline and fostering teamwork and friendship.

Advanced fitness friends looking to reach for the stars or women who are keen to improve their fitness and health have the option of competing in graded competitions (individual or team) or joining regular classes. Kevin Ingram, Mounties Group President, said: “Mounties is very excited to bring another sporting initiative to the community, particularly one that allows women of all generations to participate together. Offering this opportunity to locals is the key to supporting a vibrant and interesting community”. The ‘Physie’ Club is an addition to 38 other sub clubs within the Mounties Group. Mounties looks forward to growing its portfolio of sport and fitness offerings in 2019.

DEPOSITS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A PROPERTY What are the acceptable types of funds you can use as a deposit for purchasing a property? There are several acceptable types of funds that can be used to help purchase a property, these include the following: cash your savings, gift from family member, use of parent’s equity in their property, equity in another property owned by you, proceeds from a sale, or inheritance. You may qualify for the First Home Owners Grant, this can also be used as a deposit however, it may not be enough to cover the full deposit needed therefore other funds will be required to meet the banks criteria. Can I use a personal loan as my deposit to purchase a property? Most lenders would not treat this as an acceptable way to raise a deposit. Some lenders advertise 100% home loans, how does this work? To offer a 100% home loan the bank would require two properties as security for the one loan. Keep in mind that the banks’ lending criteria is always the same. For 100% home loans they would be simply spreading the debt across the two properties.
