Who are we?

Leadership Michael Delehanty CEO Michael is the Chief Executive Officer for Mountain West Financial. With over 20 years in the mortgage industry Mike is known as a pragmatic and balanced leader with a passion for servicing our team members and cultivating strong relationships. He is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve productivity, enhance customer service, increase production and improve profitability throughout the company. Michael graduated from Siena College with a BS degree in Finance, and currently serves on the board for CHLA, a community-centric IMB trade group.

We are a team that truly believes in one initiative: to make homeownership a reality. We are excited to introduce you to Mountain West Financial. Michael Douglas and Gary Martell Jr. began their careers in the mortgage industry as competing Originators. They use that background today to maintain an culture where the entire team, works toward one common goal: supporting each other to enable us to close loans while delivering customer service that is second to none. Since 1990 Mountain West Financial has built a reputation of not just putting people in any loan, but putting them in a home loan that suits both their short and long term goals, earning the opportunity to become a lender for life. Our success over the past 30+ years is derived from our goal of offering sustainable homeownership solutions, doing right by our team, clients, and referral partners, and continuously expanding our program offerings, systems and tools. In order to accomplish these goals we constantly analyze and improve our internal processes to enhance our service levels for all of our clients, both internal and external while maintaining high business standards.

Gary Martell Jr. Founder

Laura Martell Executive Vice President Laura is an 19-year industry veteran. Her teams are focused on multi-channel marketing, client experience, echnology initiatives, training, affordable housing, and customer service. What she enjoys most about the mortgage industry is the innovation opportunities, the ever-changing nature, and the friendships cultivated. Laura is passionate about growing and enhancing the quality of loan officers in our industry, she lead the creation of 3 internal proprietary onboarding and accountability programs. She serves on the Board of Directors for MWF and has been recognized by HousingWire, NMP and MortgageBanker Magazine for her contributions as a female leader within the industry. Ben Holloway Executive Vice President Ben Holloway began his mortgage career in 1996 as a receptionist for Mountain West Financial. During his tenure at MWF, Ben has been a Loan Officer, Branch Manager, and Department Manager. Today, Ben serves on the Board of Directors at MWF, and is a member of the Executive Team working closely with all departments at MWF to run an efficient and successful mortgage company. His is focused on the overall experience and leveraging technology to create a high-tech, high-touch process. He holds a State of California Real Estate Brokers License, State of California Insurance License, and NMLS License.

Brian Edwards Senior Vice President Capital Markets Brian Edwards is our SVP Capital Markets where he will be leading Capital Markets, Servicing and Post Closing. Brian Edwards began his adventure in mortgage banking in 2009 after launching his career with Grant Thornton as an Accountant in Dallas, TX. He has served in various roles, mostly in Secondary Marketing and Capital Markets. Outside of the mortgage business, he is passionate about education and helping kids achieve their best, and currently serves along some of the best as the Vice President of Finance for the Wylie ISD Education Foundation. Brian graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Masters of Accountancy and is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Ed Adams Senior Vice President of Production Ed serves as the production leader. Adams most recently served as the Director of Retail mortgage for BOK Financial, a financial institution with over $40 Billion in assets. Adams brings 32 years of retail mortgage lending experience to his position at Mountain West Financial. During his extensive career in mortgage banking, Adams has managed a wide variety of production and support functions for well-known financial institutions including sales, training, appraisals and underwriting. In his new role, Adams will direct and expand the company’s retail mortgage lending efforts across the existing footprint and expand into new areas of opportunity.

At the foundation of everything we do, every decision we make, and our moral compass that drives our vision and goals are our core values. Shannon Kaufman Regional Vice President of Production Shannon comes to Mountain West Financial, Inc. with over 25 years in Mortgage Banking experience. More than 20 of those years have been demonstrating consistent success in helping to grow and build a strong sales team and culture with Mountain West Financial, Inc. Shannon began her career in operations, eventually transitioning into sales where she quickly excelled and found her niche. Shannon has expertise in relationship building and creating long and loyal alliances, while consistently proving herself to be a top production leader throughout her career.

Our History Over 30 Years of Experience Mountain West Financial opened on May 17, 1990 in Lake Arrowhead, CA. In the first five years of our company’s history, we grew from one to locations in multiple states. In 1995, we became a mortgage banker, hired Underwriters and Funders, and acquired our own credit lines. in 1997 we expanded into wholesale lending. Through the years we’ve continued to grow and adapt. Since 1990, we’ve gone from being a small mortgage broker, to a retail lender, to primarily a

wholesale lender, and as we sit today we support both retail and wholesale. We’ve partnered with many tech companies, operate under multiple DBAs in states across the United States, and have provided helped tens of thousands of clients with their homeownership goals with sustainable homeownership solutions. Anthem, a national carrier of health insurance is our provider for Medical and dental plans. Depending on location, HMO, PPO, and HSA plans are currently offered for medical. Their dental PPO and DMO solutions offer employees excellent coverage and expansive networks.
