Since the 1970s, the Taylor family of Meriden has followed farming trends and sold its milk to big dairy distributors. There, it is eventually mixed with milk from other farms and used in products like McDonald’s shakes and Friendly’s ice cream. When asked how he feels knowing that his fast-food shake may contain milk from his own cows, Rob Taylor says, “It’s kind of neat. I appreciate it.” 4 The Taylor Farm Shop.
