Senior Newsletter Dear Patriot 2013 Future Graduate: It’s hard to believe we are half way through your last year of high school!

Hopefully, the school year has found you completing college applications, gathering reference letters, submitting financial aid requests, and preparing for your life outside of high school. Please keep up the hard work! Now, that your goal is within reach, do not stop working. Attendance, maintaining high grades, as well as your performance on AP tests still play a vital role in your future. Make sure you let your counselor know about your college acceptance and your final choice for college.

Volume 1, Issue 2

Graduation Information Guests and Ceremony Conduct It is the goal of the Patriot High School Senior Class of 2013 to make this year’s commencement exercises a dignified celebration and ceremony. We ask that all persons attending the ceremony conduct themselves in a proper manner. So that every family may hear the name of their graduate called, please refrain from yelling, ringing bells, blowing air horns and using noise makers. Should celebrations become disorderly the commencement will stop until order is restored. We seek your cooperation in this matter. Commencement Ceremony Punctuality is mandatory. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on June 13, 2013. All students must arrive by 5 p.m. and report to the auxiliary gym. The academic procession will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. The graduation order will be arranged alphabetically. As graduates receive the diploma, a professional photographer from Herff Jones will take a picture of the graduate receiving his/her diploma. Those photos will be available at www.herffjonesphotography.com. No one from the audience will be allowed to approach the podium with a camera. The use of video cameras and digital cameras are allowed. However, attendees may only film from areas that will not impede the viewing area. Standing in the aisles and the use of electrical cords or tripods is prohibited. To ensure a smooth transition between recognition of each student, please hold your applause until all students have received their diplomas.

Attendance Attendance: All seniors are to be reminded that attending school on a regular basis is important. Improper attendance patterns may negatively affect grades and could result in students not meeting the course requirements necessary for graduation. In addition, it is essential that all seniors adhere to county/school rules and regulations for the remainder of the year. Failure to do so may cause suspension and may jeopardize an individual’s privilege to participate in the graduation ceremony. Put first things first and envision your long-term goals as you complete your last year of high school.
