nipped ahead of Wilson, with one second separating the two crews at the finish line.

Class 9

Class 12

Mini power packed a punch in class nine as Simon Evans and Barry Faul led the category from start to finish. 21 seconds faster than their rivals on the opening test, they were fastest out of the blocks by a country mile. Second placed Thomas Carolan and Declan Smith picked up their pace towards the finish, swiping 29 seconds from the leaders on the final stage, but it was too late. Evans won from Carolan, with Pat and Jimmy Bellew third.

The battle for the class 12 spoils turned out to be a tit-for-tat affair. Colin and David Loughney were first to top the standings, only for Noel O’Donnell and Ronan Murrn to move ahead after stage three. Then Daniel Conaghan and Trevor Graham moved in front after the fourth test, but O’Donnell joined them on the top spot after SS5. Stage six saw O’Donnell make the number one spot his own, and he looked set to claim the spoils, but a problem on the final stage

Class 14

Eugene Ferry and Derek Heena were the early class 14 leaders, before being overhauled by Peter and Laura Greene on stage five. Ferry later overhauled Greene, but in the same breath, Trevor Mulligan and Lisa Roe moved into the number one slot. They went on to take a 26 second victory over the two Greenes, after they moved in front of Ferry on the final stage.

Class 15

Jack and Paul Maguire took an early class 15 lead and looked set to claim the spoils from Gary McElhinney and Damien Connolly.

Class 10

Andrew Slattery and Donal Lynch dominated class 10 as they also took a start to finish victory. Driving their Peugeot 205, the crew grabbed the advantage from the start and never looked back. They went on to win by more than one minute from Barry Treanor and Colm Connolly, with Shane Maguire and Stephen Thornton third.

Class 11

There were plenty of crews entered in class 11, but that failed to faze Anthony Hand and Emmet Sherry. Fastest on the opening stage by one second from Peter Wilson and Domhnall Lennon, they quickly built a more substantial lead. In the end, they finished more than one minute in front of Jim McKenna and Thomas Treanor, who just

saw Conaghan nab the victory. O’Donnell had to settle for second, with Rory Carroll and John A Conway third.

After stage six, they led the category by more than two minutes, only for a problem to force them into retirement. That left the coast clear from McElhinney to take his Subaru Legacy to victory.

Class 13

Pat Bonar and James O’Reilly were the early class 13 leaders, but they were overhauled by Victor Hunter and Michael Doherty on stage three. Then Russell Woods and Martin Byrne moved in front on stage five, and stayed there until the finish. They claimed the class honours by 19 seconds from Hunter, with Mark Wedlock and Adam Kinkade third.

Class 16 (Juniors)

In the Junior category, Terry McGonigle and Mark Curran brought their Honda Civic home at the head of class 16. They finished more than one minute in front of Eamon Brady and David Kellegher, with Ferlin Taylor and Vinnie Boyd third.
