Big Sioux Community Water System, a member owned, non-profit rural water system for Lake & Moody Counties, is offering employment opportunity to a self-motivated individual whose duties will include water distribution, pipeline maintenance and repair, system maintenance, water line construction, customer service, metering, service calls, one-call locates and water plant operations (when on call). This position is full-time and will require on call after hours and weekends, which rotates every 5 weeks and is flexible.
Basic requirements include a high school education, a clean driving record, good communication skills, basic math skills, along with mechanical & electrical aptitude. A valid driver’s license is required; company pickup and phone will be provided.

Utility Improvement Project Public Announcement: Construction
to Resume
The City of Flandreau would like to inform residents and businesses that construction activities for the Utility Improvement Project will resume soon, depending on weather and site conditions.
Utility crews are expected to return the week of March 23rd for roadway preparation and site management. Temporary water line installation is planned to begin the week of March 30th, starting near the intersection of Wind Street and Elm Avenue. Sidewalk work will resume in areas that remain exposed.
In May, asphalt paving is anticipated along Park Avenue (from Wind Street to Prairie Street) and Wind Street (from Park Avenue to Broad Avenue), once asphalt plants reopen.
Beginning in May, roadway utility installation will continue east from Prairie Street toward Summit Street.

Big Sioux Community Water System, a member owned, non-profit rural water system serving Lake & Moody County, seeks applicants for a fulltime bookkeeping position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining on a current basis: accounts, ledgers, business records and corporate files. This position also is responsible for distributing monthly financial and performance reports for the Board of Directors, General Manager, Attorney, and governmental entities. Other duties include preparing and distributing payroll, A/P, A/R, maintaining employee benefits, reconciling bank accounts, corporate records, board minutes, working with the Auditor and other important company documents. Applicants must be detail oriented and organized.
At least 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred.
