Playgroups I hope you all had a great summer. It is hard to believe but Fall is just around the corner. With that comes the start of a new Montgomery Moms year and new playgroups!   Please fill out your forms and either email it back to me at mmomsplaygroups@gmail.com  or you can mail to my home (please see the directory for contact information).  You’ll find forms on the website if you did not receive an email with the form attached. Play date forms are due back to me no later than September 14. I would like to get the groups formed asap so you can all start meeting! Once playgroups are formed, it can be difficult to add members to them throughout the year due to playgroup size as well as day/time/age of kids meeting. Forms can be submitted throughout the year, if it is possible to fit a new member into an existing playgroup I will go ahead and do that, but more likely than not I will keep a folder of requests and as the year goes on if there are enough members with similar request (i.e age of children and day they want to meet) I can form new groups. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you! Ruthie Richter Page 4

Recipe: Powerball Cookies

Submitted by: Katherine Walch

These wholesome little snacks are simple to make and rival cookie dough eaten right out of the bowl (not that we'd do that). The easiest way to make them is to combine all the ingredients in a stand mixer, but the fun way is to push up your kid's sleeves and let her mush it all by hand.

Ingredients: • • • • • •

1 cup peanut butter 1 cup honey 3 cups old fashioned oats 1/2 cup ground flaxseed 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup (nuts, dried fruits, raisins etc.)

Instructions: 1. Mix together 1 cup of peanut butter and 1 cup of honey until smooth.

2. Gradually add in 3 cups old fashioned oats and 1/2 cup ground flaxseed. 3. Add 1 cup chocolate chips and a cup of a combination of nuts and soft dried fruit (try 1/2 cup coarsely chopped peanuts and 1/4 cup each of raisins and dried cranberries).

Makes 40 - 48 Cookies You can eat them right away, but they'll be less sticky after a night in the fridge. They freeze well too, layered on wax paper in airtight containers.

4. Mix gently in your stand mixer or smush together using your hand.

5. Roll into Ping-Pong-size balls and, for maximum presentation value, put in paper mini muffin cups.
