Celebration of Worship

Next Week

Sunday, December 16, 2012

God has provided a way for you to experience life! Unfortunately, not everyone or everything sets us up to follow God’s best for our life. We need to make a choice – will we embrace the life that God has for us or turn towards another path. At Christmas, God created a way for us to know Him intimately – through Jesus. Will you choose that path? Join us next week as we explore what it means to follow the narrow path that leads to life and to forsake the wide path that leads to death.

As you continue preparing for Christmas, reflect on these words spoken to Joseph as he considered god’s call in his life on that first Christmas, An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Thanks to each of you for your faithful and stepped up pledges for the coming 2013 year. Your commitments to Monte Vista will go a long way toward the MVPC Session's charge in helping the Lord's work to get done in the 2013 year ahead. Specifically, your pledges have resulted in increases in promised giving by 12%, from $422,000 in 2012 to $474,000 to 2013. This includes 22 additional families making a written pledge for 2013 that were not made in 2012, for a total of 104 Giving Cards. These commitments of your treasures will continue the Lord's work at Monte Vista PC as your Session prepares the 2013 MVPC budget in the coming weeks. Thank to all and God bless each of you for all your sacrifices of time, talents and treasures in service to our Lord though our Monte Vista PC community. IMPORTANT NOTICE: To ensure the deductibility of your church contributions, do not file your 2012 income tax return until you have received a written acknowledgment of your contributions from the church. Some of your contributions may not be tax-deductible if you file your tax return before receiving a written acknowledgement of your contributions from the church.
