The Five-Fold Act of Consciousness Yet Another “Awarer” “The act of emanation. With reference to the appearance of the objects in another space, time, etc., it is The act of withdrawal or absorption. With reference to the actual (continuity of the) appearance of blue etc., it is The act of maintenance. With reference to its appearance as different, it is The act of concealment. onsciousness, no doubt, has many different steps in its traversing from THAT SUBSTANCE to the manifested universe and what we call “I.” However, each witnessing of the steps or acts that consciousness makes requires an “awarer.” Thus, the trap is not in mentioning or even knowing the 5-fold, 10-fold, 100-fold, or no-act act. The trap lies in two areas: First, in the misunderstanding that witnessing, noticing or being “awarer” of these steps or acts will liberate an “I”; second, that the “awarer” that is awaring these “movements, ” “acts,” “plays,” or “phases” of conscious208
