How to Sell Lotto Tickets Selling Using a Play Slip 1. Insert the completed play slip into the scanner. Make sure that the front (marked) side of the play slip is facing you. The play slip will exit from the bottom of the scanner and stack in the Stacker Tray, which can hold up to 30 play slips. Slide the Stacker Tray out to open it. 2. The terminal will read the play slip and print a ticket. 3. If the purchase price of the ticket is more than $10, a purchase confirmation message will appear stating the total amount of the ticket.

4. Confirm the purchase price with the customer and then touch [OK] to print the ticket, or [CANCEL] to cancel the play and return to the previous screen.

selling lotto tickets Multiple Play Slip Sales Multiple play slips for one customer may be inserted, one after the other, without waiting for each ticket to be printed. Remember to: Ask the customer to check their tickets to make sure that the numbers on all plays are accurately recorded on the tickets. Consider: Asking the customer if they would like another ticket instead of change.

How to Correct a Play Slip When a play slip with errors is inserted into the scanner: 1. An error message appears stating which PLAY is incorrect or other problem. 2. You have two options to correct the play: 



Touch [DROP] to cancel the play. Return the play slip to the customer to correct and then reinsert it into the scanner Touch the [EDIT] button on the error message window to display the associated game screen and the PLAYS area that is incorrect.

How to use Play Slip Override 1. Select [PLAY SLIP OVERRIDE] ON THE Main Menu screen. 2. Insert the completed play slip into the scanner. Make sure that the front (marked) side of the play slip is facing you. 3. A pop-up keypad appears allowing you to edit the number of Multi-draws selected on the slip. Enter the number of draws the player requests and touch [OK]. 4. Confirm the purchase price with the customer and then touch [OK] to print the ticket, or [CANCEL] to cancel the play and return to the previous screen.

3. If too few numbers are selected, touch the number(s) the customer wishes to choose or touch [QP] to Quick Pick the remaining numbers. 4. If too many numbers are selected, touch the number(s) the customer wishes to delete. 5. If the play is for Powerball and the red Powerball number is not selected, touch the number the customer wishes to choose or touch [QP] to Quick Pick the number. 6. When all the corrections have been made, touch [SEND].

The [SEND] button will remain disabled until the Game screen is completed correctly.

selling lotto tickets Manual Entry Method Game screens are accessed from the Main Menu screen. Touch the Game’s logo button to display the desired screen. The following buttons are available from each game screen: PLAYS The A, B, C, D, and E [PLAYS] buttons correspond to the five panels on a play slip. The first play that is entered always defaults to the “A” play. To produce a ticket with more than one play, select the next PLAYS letter and enter the play information on the game screen. The active letter button displays as solid RED.

Any PLAYS letter that has been completed appears as a shaded RED to indicate it contains a play. View any selected plays by touching the corresponding letter. Quick Pick Buttons Each game screen contains its own [QUICK PICK] button. When selected, the number selection for the active play is completed with random Quick Pick numbers. You can Quick Pick all or some of the numbers on a game screen. To perform a partial Quick Pick:  First select the desired manual-entry numbers.  Then, touch the [QUICK PICK] button to complete the play with random Quick Pick numbers.

selling lotto tickets Transaction Buttons Displays the Online Help menu screen from which you can select a help topic to view. Deletes all the numbers that have been selected so that you may enter new numbers. Touching [SEND] completes the play entry and either prints a ticket or displays the Plays Preview screen (see “Enabling/ Disabling Plays Preview” later in this section). The [SEND] button will not enable until the correct amount of numbers are selected.

Each Quick Pick screen contains summary information for the current game as follows:

selling lotto tickets Powerball and Power Play Up to five (5) PLAYS can be selected from the Powerball Game screen. The defaults for this screen are one ticket with one draw, one play and NO Power Play. 1. From the first Powerball screen, touch the five (5) white numbers desired from 1 to 55.

2. When the five (5) white ball numbers are selected, touch the [GO TO POWER BALL] button to display the red Powerball screen. 3. From the red Powerball screen, touch one Powerball number to select it.

You can select the Power Play option from either Powerball screen. 5. If the customer wishes to play for more than one drawing, touch [MULTIDRAW]. You can play each ticket for up to 24 consecutive drawings. 6. If the customer wishes to change their white ball number selection, touch the [GO TO WHITE NUMBERS] button to view the first Powerball Game screen. Touch a selected number to cancel it, and then touch a new number. 7. Touch the next [PLAYS] letter button, B, C, D, or E to add another Powerball play to the ticket. 8. Touch [SEND] to complete the play and print the ticket.

selling lotto tickets Montana Cash Up to five (5) plays can be selected from the Montana Cash Game screen. The defaults for this screen are one ticket with one draw and two sets of numbers. 1. From the first Montana Cash Game screen, choose five (5) numbers from 1 to 37.

2. When the five numbers are selected, touch [GO TO PANEL 2] button to display the second set of numbers. Select five (5) numbers from 1 to 37. 3. If the customer wishes to play for more than one drawing, touch [MULTIDRAW]. You can play for up to 24 consecutive drawings. 4. Touch the next [PLAYS] letter button, B, C, D, or E to add another Montana Cash play to the ticket.

5. Touch [SEND] to complete the play and print the ticket.

selling lotto tickets Wild Card 2 Up to five (5) plays can be selected from the Wild Card 2 Game screen. The defaults for this screen are one ticket with one draw and two sets of numbers. 1. From the first Wild Card 2 Game screen, choose five (5) numbers between 1 and 31. In addition, for each panel/screen, select a Wild Card—one card, Jack through Ace, and one suit, Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts, Spades.

selling lotto tickets Hot Lotto Up to five (5) plays can be selected from the Hot Lotto Game screen. The defaults for this screen are one ticket with one draw and one set of numbers. 1. From the first Hot Lotto Game screen, choose five (5) numbers between 1 and 39.

2. When the five (5) white ball numbers are selected, touch the [GO TO HOT BALL] button to display the Hot Ball selection screen. Select one (1) number from 1 to 19. 3. If the customer wishes to play for more than one drawing, touch [MULTIDRAW]. You can play for up to 24 consecutive drawings. 4. Touch the next [PLAYS] letter button, B, C, D, or E to add another Hot Lotto play to the ticket.

selling lotto tickets Multi-Draw Option Multi-Draw includes the next scheduled drawing and can be played for up to 24 consecutive drawings (12 weeks worth).



Selecting Multi-Draw on the terminal allows you to choose any number of consecutive drawings that are allowed for each game. Using a play slips limits the number of Multi-Draws to those listed on each game’s play slip.

The Multi-Draw option is available from each Game screen and each game Quick Pick window. 1. Touch the [MULTI-DRAW] button from any Game or Quick Pick screen to display the Multi-Draw keypad.

2. Touch the number of multiple drawings for the current play. The number will include the upcoming drawing. 3. Touch [OK] to return to the previous screen.

If more than one play is desired, touch the number of PLAYS (2 – 5). Touch [MULTI-DRAW] and use the keypad to enter the number of consecutive drawings to play (up to 24). Touch [# OF TICKETS] and use the keypad to enter the number of tickets desired (up to 25). If this is a Quick Pick for Powerball, touch [YES] to select the Power Play option.

3. Touch [SEND] to complete the play, close the window and print the ticket.

One Touch $1 and $5 Quick Pick You can print a single Quick Pick play for each game or five Quick Pick plays by touching the One-Touch Quick Pick buttons on the Main Menu screen. a. Touch the [$1 QP – 1 DRAW / 1 PLAY] button to the right of the desired game to generate a single Quick Pick play for the next scheduled drawing. b. Touch the [$5 QP – 1 DRAW / 5 PLAYS] button to the right of the desired game to generate five (5) Quick Pick plays on one ticket for the next scheduled drawing.

Quick Pick from a Game Screen You can select the Quick Pick option from any Game screen. The [QUICK PICK] button is located in the lower right corner of the Game screens. 1. From the active Game screen, select the [QUICK PICK] button. 4-13

If this is a Powerball or Hot Lotto Quick Pick, you must touch the [GO TO POWERBALL] or [GO TO HOT BALL] button and touch [QP] on the red Powerball screen to complete the play.

2. To play another Quick Pick, touch the next available [PLAYS] letter button and then touch the [QUICK PICK] button. 3. Touch [MULTI-DRAW] and/or [# OF TICKETS] if these options are desired. 4. Touch the [SEND] button to complete the play and print the ticket.

selling lotto tickets How to Sell a 4-Pack A 4-Pack option produces a Quick Pick ticket for each of the following Lotto games: Powerball, Montana Cash, Wild Card and Hot Lotto– four tickets total. Each ticket is valid for the next scheduled drawing for each game. The pop-up screen for the Power Play option will display. If the customer chooses to add Power Play, touch [YES] to add the Power Play option to the Powerball ticket. To generate a 4-Pack sale, touch the [4-PACK] button on the Main Menu screen. All four tickets automatically print. The total cost for each 4-Pack sale is $4.00, or $5.00 if the Power Play option is added to the Powerball ticket.

How to Sell a 5-Pack A 5-Pack option produces a Quick Pick ticket for each of the following Lotto games: Powerball, Montana Cash, Wild Card, Hot Lotto, and one Qwik Tix– five tickets total. Each ticket is valid for the next scheduled drawing for each game. The pop-up screen for the Power Play option will display. If the customer chooses to add Power Play, touch [YES] to add the Power Play option to the Powerball ticket. To generate a 5-Pack sale, touch the [5-PACK] button on the Main Menu screen. All five tickets automatically print. The total cost for each 5-Pack sale is $5.00, or $6.00 if the Power Play option is added to the Powerball ticket. A random Qwik Tix ticket prints as well.

How to Sell a Ticket Repeat The Ticket Repeat option allows you to print a ticket for a specific game using the same play information from a valid ticket. A Ticket Repeat can be generated from any ticket that was sold on or after March 31, 2006, and is still valid (within 180 days of the draw date printed on the ticket). To produce a Ticket Repeat ticket: 1. Touch the [TICKET REPEAT] button. The Ticket Repeat Play window displays. 2. Scan the barcode on the customer’s ticket using the barcode reader.

selling lotto tickets The results display in the Ticket Repeat Results area of the window and include the new draw date (or date range if the original ticket was a MultiDraw).

3. If the ticket cannot be scanned, enter the barcode number using the keypad on the Ticket Repeat window. 4. Touch [OK] to print the ticket or touch [EXIT] to cancel the transaction. 5. If a ticket is not valid for a Ticket Repeat play, one of several messages will appear, including: 

If the drawing date on the ticket is more than 180 days old, the terminal will display the message: “Ticket information can not be retrieved. Ticket is older than 180 days.” If the ticket is for a game that is no longer available or cannot be repeated for the same number of draws, the central system will reject the request and the terminal will display the message: “Ticket Repeat Not Available.”

Enabling / Disabling Plays Preview The Plays Preview feature allows you to choose whether or not tickets automatically print or transactions are accumulated and displayed on a summary screen before printing. When you sign on, the Plays Preview feature defaults to “disabled,” or turned off. This means that transactions are sent “directly” to the Central System for processing and tickets print automatically when you insert a play slip or touch [SEND] from a game screen, or when one-touch options are selected. Enabling the Plays Preview feature allows transactions to accumulate and display in a Plays Preview screen before tickets are printed. To view a running total of multiple transactions for a customer, the Plays Preview feature must be turned on (enabled). To turn on the Plays Preview feature, perform the following: 1. From the Main Menu screen, touch the [PLAYS PREVIEW] button. A green arrow (  ) appears on the button when the feature is turned on. A red x ( X ) appears when the feature is turned off. 2. To change from enabled to disabled, touch the button. 3. To change back to enabled, touch the button again and then touch [OK] on the Confirmation message window.

Displaying the Plays Preview Screen When the Plays Preview feature is turned on, the Plays Preview screen displays when:    

You insert a play slip You touch the [SEND] button from any Game or Quick Pick screen You select any one-touch button from the Main Menu screen You select [SEND] from the Ticket Repeat screen

Using the Plays Preview Screen The current customer’s transactions are shown on the Plays Preview screen. The screen will list up to twenty-five (25) transactions at a time.

Plays Preview Screen

The screen shows you the following information in the Transaction Grid: S/N – The transactions number, which represents each ticket purchased. Games – The name of the game purchased. Plays – The number of plays selected on each ticket. Trans – The type of transaction, which could be an E-Ticket (entered manually) or an S-Ticket (scanned play slip). Cost – The cost of each transaction. Touching a transaction from the list displays it in the panel to the right of the grid. The display includes the play type (such as Quick Pick) and play letter, any game options, the name of the game, the drawing number(s) and the purchase price of the ticket. Below the Grid is the Total that is due from the customer.

selling lotto tickets The following buttons are provided on the Plays Preview screen: Touching this button deletes all the plays in the list and returns to the Main Menu screen. A message displays to confirm deleting all the plays.

Touching this button displays the Game Selection window from which you can pick a game to add to the current transaction.

Touching a play in the list and touching this button deletes the selected play.

Touching this button completes the current transactions and prints all the tickets in the list and returns to the main menu.

Touching a play in the list and touching this button displays the selected play in the Game screen from which you can edit the play.
