TERRACED HOUSES The project aims to design residental houses in certain land area. I positioned terrace-houses in the suburb Dolní Chabry in Prague. Houses are on the east part of the area in slopy field. I settled these buildings into terrain and I also created foot-walk that connects each house with U Rybníčka street. There are overall ten houses each having two storeys and the basemesnt.

There is an underground parking which serves for multifunctional centre, terrace-houses and for public too. Parking for residents are private and separeted by the garage doors. Enter to the parking lot is on the east side, from the street U Rybníčka. This houses are all about connecting the new living spaces with the garden, with bifold doors opening the family room up for a great flow from indoors to out.

Theater in Seoul features a 1340seat performing arts centre which is integrated into a commercial. The building is based on the concept of stages — the stage of the theatre itself, the stage of the piazza, illuminated at night. The theatre becomes the main façade of a large street that has the most famous art academies and clubs. The building consists of commertial, cultural and public space components. Main mass is divided into two parts. One part, smaller, consists of six container. Each container represents each theatre.

URBAN MOUNTAIN W I T H I N

T H E

N AT U R E

The urban mountain is located in the northeasten part of seoul, on the side of gongneong. It represents complex of offices and commertial facilities. It is a 15-story building. Site is located on the crossroad of the railroad, which plans to be transformed into a park. This area has particularly housing character and it is not very famous due to its location and lack of attraction. My site is set up on the inclined terrain which continues to the housing area. It is on the corner of the street with a view to the future park. My idea is to create individual space for public and touristic attractions and private space for office building. I devided it into two objects: lower part : cube-shaped commercial facilities, and upper part: for rotated elipse shaped offices.

_basic sketch

Commercial area is set up into inclined terrain, thus it connects housing area with main road so people can freely walk through. I created a complex of terraces with galleries and souvenir shops . Due to the propagation of the area, and because of transformation of the old railroad into the park, I have decided to create another “mountain, spot building for this area that lies along the railroad and continues to the mount soraksan, parks and other nature beauties. In addtionon, I wanted to create a natural and attractive working environment. Therefore each floor of the office building has its own terrace. Due to the weather changes and seasons I created greenhouses which are available during whole year. This comfortable working environment will increase pleasant working atmosphere and it will draw famous companies and tourists to propagate this area .It will also provide new business opportunities for local people and rise comfortable living style. 20

cooperation with Eva Šťouračová CONNECTION

TASK The main task of the project is to elaborate the western part of the Prague called Západní město (Western city) and to find its identity and to encease its value. PROPOSAL The main topic of our proposal is interface between countryside and city and seeking their relationships and connections. By locating current centres and restoring historic roads we found intersection and create new potentional focus of new locality. Whole area has good mobility and placement in attractive locality surrounded by the nature.

ANALYSIS Settlement JZM - designed as modern city - high-rise buildings surrounded by nature - public space -> unconventional arrangement - JZM should work as an individual city which can fullfill the ideo of: HOUSING, WORK, RELAX CONS -unlimited public space-residual areas -difficult orientation -huge scale -lack of parking lots -lack of amenities for pensioners -lack of safety -poor connection with countryside

JZM - area in outer ring of Prague - easy accessibility to the centre - convenient location to the recreation behind the city PROS -mobility -amenities in walking distance -parks and nature close to the housing

Hlavním tématem našeho návrhu je rozhraní krajiny a města, nalezení jejich vzahu a souvislostí. Lokalizováním stávajících center a obnovením historických stezek dochází ke křížení a vytvoření potencionálních ohnisek nového území.

DETAILS

New centre Západní město (Western city) is to be extended to accommodate new inhabitants and offer new workplaces. By designing new centre which copies historic paths and continues to the country we create city centre with full public service, public spaces, housing and work opportunities. New square is beeing centre of daily life and city social scene.

DETAILS Interface between city and country was important question which needed to be answered. The certain solution is requested for certain situation. We decided to design orchard to invite people by offering them fruit products and place to rest. This place is a part of path which starts at the settlement JZM and continues to the country. This path (shown on the next slide) is the most important of all renewed historic paths and it is linked by the trees. We created stopping points at the place of the crossroad and added “small architecture like benches, landmarks, observation towers. We took into account existing biocorridors and supported them in place they are missing. On the edge of the development we create imaginary green border which clearly defines border between city and country.

SETTLEMENT REVITALIZATION The main point in this revitalization is to improve space around panel houses. Another assumption to improve quality is to redevelop and modernize buildings itself. In whole, we design promenade which connects metro station and country. This promenade offers leisure activities such as cycling routes, trails, playgrounds, skate parks or playgrounds for beach volleyball and badminton. By renovation panel houses, we inspired by successful foreign projects. As an example, we chose projects: GifuKitagataApartementbuilding in Japan (SannaIzosaki), Tour Bois-le-Prêtre in Paris (Druot, Lacaton, Vassal). Due to the different conditions in foreign settlements, it is not possible for us to apply these models identically, but can be adapted to Czech conditions. The final interventionof our proposal is a hierarchy of space in courtyards and create a human scale space. We allocate private premises used for the inhabitants of houses and public spaces. Private spaces can be used for example as community gardens, which are very popular. People can thus identify more with the space in which they live.

RETREAT INTO NATURE at its purest form The task was to design dancing centre in beautiful environment in Ĺ umava that would replace ruins of the old pub which used to be there. We had to keep basement, some original strucures and shape of the original plan. We were limited by designing only two floors above. I have decided to work with nature and settle the building into its terrain. So I created similar shape of the building to the mountains in background. As a material I used wood for a structure. The puropse was to design modern interesting building which fits into this environment and which is not disturbing. I want famous dancers come from all over the world here to excercise and relax. There are many resorts around and Ĺ umava can be proud of its beauty.

44

45

The roof access is straight from the terrain. People can come and enjoy beautiful view. It is a spot view. The roof is green, protected by railing.

Dancing hall is big and decorated by the wooden structure. The hall is naturally ventilated and due to the structure it creates interesting space.

HIGH-RISE BUILDING FOR PRAGUE cooperation with Tereza Keilová

The design mainly uses charm of its place. Set up on the imaginary southern border between classical and modern buildings of Prague. The building does not become so dominant feature of its height but mainly serves as an entrance gate before entering the “Castle”. We use height of the bridge: Building starts in the walley and by growing up it is divided by the bridge into two towers so we encreased its height more keeping height of surrounded buildings. Ground plan is based on cross-sectional Nuselský bridge. The towers are connected to the bridge by driveway for car wraps and there’s a walkway for pedestrians. Towers are accessible from level of Nuselský bridge by the main entrance from the outside. There are offices, residential floors devideded by their exclusivity. The upper part of the small tower is designed for a restaurant with a view and with some additional functions such as casino, fitness, etc., below.

The border of building copies the shape of site and makes a small square for another occasions, which can take place there as extension with another market stalls or some evening hapenings. Visitors can enter the market also from the sides and smooth it through to the end as well as the street. Typology of market stalls is threefold , to the assortment of goods could be as diverse. side , these rooms are especially good for more complex technologies such as freezers for fish or meat, bakery , etc. Construction of market hall is wooden. Doors outdoor stalls are mechanically hinged sliding upwards. We create at this point not only the market, which would fill the entire space , but we suggest also includes space for public meetings and for various other municipal actions , which is today otherwise emphasized.

THE

ABILITY TO MOVE SMILE WITH TIREBANK

This project was a real competiton. We (11 students + 2 professors) join it as a part of school project. We were devided into three teams: 1) structure and planning 2) design and modeling 3) technical documentation I participated in structure and planning but I was primary working in design and modeling team. This project was made in Seoul National University of Science and Technology in Seoul, South Korea. Among all competitors we were only students and we won 4th prize. Competition was divided into two rounds. They chose best 6 projects in first round ( our projest was there too) so we had to develop and elaborate design more. Therfore, I am showing two options of this building in my portfolio.

The task was to design office building for company which produces tires. The name of the company is Tirebank. The site is in new citiy which is in the process of builing. We had to keep plenty strict rules and we were resticted by many requirements.

Prologue To maintain the old traditional hanok houses and to create the harmony between old and new, we are bringing the Korean history and culture into one place. That, and lot of more, is our new plan for Seochon. We have created a small village, keeping hanok houses and designing new, modern ´´boxes´´, to achieve contrast and leave the message that remains unity of past and present. To preserve the sense of space and unity of the place, these boxes are located in a way which supports the vision of unified space.

We set up stairs and ramps to give access to the upper floors of the new buildings, it also illustrates a circular path that runs throughout the whole place, a lot like a museum’s. This circular route allows you to trace back and revisit the village as a whole, from distinct points of view.

DEVELOPING STEPS The project is developed in five steps within four zones. Agrication can provide a new contact between the inhabitants and the fields. The purpose of an Education Centre is to raise the awareness of the local people in agricultural activities, a kind of knowledge offered by the local farmers. The project builds uppon the proposition of a new identity for the area, carried through the development of the local industry. Initial connection between the inhabitants and urban agriculture is created by proposing activities like community gardens and a seed bank, spaces that people can share and work collaborative for the benefit of the city itself. The new concept would physically and connect the old structures of the site and be the motive for the economic prosperity of the farmers. 77
