The project seeks, through a modular design strategy, urban regeneration at a local level, based on the principle that interventions in the public space do not need to be large and expensive in order to have a transformative impact on communities.

The objective of the intervention was to revitalize public spaces in Ostia, for which the adopted strategy is to provide them with recreational urban equipment. Thus, a flexible modular infrastructure is sought, which can be adapted to different required uses and places, leaving a margin for citizen appropriation. The “Cabina di Bagno” (an image of Ostia, roman summer district) was born in England and later redesigned by Aldo Rossi in 1980, for whom it consisted of "...the minimum unit to live in, an impression of summer". Starting from this particular and universal character conferred to the Cabina by Rossi, we experiment with the minimum forms of the module: the tympanum and the rectangle, creating a system of assemblage, that is, an associative regime of elements that allow its continuous adaptation and diversity of proposed uses, according to Richard Sennett's theory.
