agreed to fill the position until a new Grand Lecturer could be selected and appointed. I appointed the Deputy Grand Master, Senior and Junior Grand Wardens, and Senior and Junior Grand Deacons to assist me in finding a permanent replacement. I am pleased to report that Right Worshipful Brother Michael Wheeler, currently the Regional Grand Lecturer for Region B, has agreed to serve as your Grand Lecturer beginning next year. 11. Freemason Magazine: On April 4, 2015 the Editor of The Freemason magazine resigned. This left us in a dilemma and in a bit of a bind to get The Freemason put together and published in time for distribution in August. In prior years, the Publications Committee, which is supposed to oversee publication of the magazine, rarely if ever met; publication of the magazine was left solely in the hands of the Editor and the Grand Secretary. At a Moolah Shrine meeting, Brother Dennis Burkholder expressed an interest to step in and help. I reactivated the Publications Committee and it decided to allow Brother Burkholder the opportunity to publish the summer edition. Having to basically start from scratch, it took a little longer than we wanted, but the magazine came out in August and Brother Burkholder was instrumental in reviving a Grand Lodge Facebook page to include pictures of the State Capitol Cornerstone ceremony and other events. While I am happy to report that we received many compliments on the fresh new look and content of the summer edition, we also received many complaints primarily arising out of the lack of proper proof-reading. We also ran into numerous unanticipated publication and distribution-related issues. The Publications Committee has again met and will be going in a different direction next year but I am pleased to report that the Fall 2015 edition already is in the works and is on schedule. 12. Hush-mail: In May and June several mass emails of unknown origin and anonymous authorship were sent to many in the Craft criticizing, berating, and personally insulting the Grand Lodge officers and others, as well as the Masonic Home of Missouri. Because attending to the real business of the Craft was more important, neither I nor your Grand Lodge officers chose to respond to these un-Masonic and hurtful, personal attacks. Today, as your Grand Master I will say this to the writer(s) and anyone who contributed in any way to the content and distribution of these emails. The emails you sent concerning the Grand Lodge office situation and the Masonic Home at best contained less than half truths; virtually all were and are simply false. A bigger issue to me was your vicious personal attacks on the Masonic Home Director and other Grand Lodge Officers. Any criticism you might legitimately have should have been directed at me as your Grand Master. To borrow Most Worshipful Brother Truman’s presidential phrase, “the buck stops here” with the Grand Master.

Recommendations:

1. The next phase of the Mentoring Manual, “Train the Trainer” or “Mentor the Mentor” should be completed. The Mentor needs to know what and how to teach or mentor his new candidates. 2. Now that the new membership database is installed, it is important to reactivate the LAMP program and to develop a communication program between and among the Grand Lodge, the Lodges and the membership. 3. Membership is critical. We need to concentrate on getting our message to those good men in our communities and to bring them into the fraternity. The Public Relations Committee is currently completing a
