Trends: • There is a noticeable decline in EA’s this year. 894 which is down from 956 and 973 in the previous 2 years.  Reinstatements increased this year.  Endowed memberships purchased this year has increased. Approximately 10% of the total membership consists of endowed members.  Suspensions for non-payment of dues have decreased slightly by 22 however, collectively over the past 3 years, there were 2467 suspensions for NPD.  Stats show that only 88 dues remittals were reported in 2015 where in 2014 there were 710 reported.  The fraternity has lost 7.8% of our membership in deaths in the last 3 years. Adding in the suspensions for NPD, deaths and suspensions account for almost 14% in membership losses in the last 3 years.  There is a continuing decrease in members receiving their 50 year jewel. There were 917 in 2013, 583 in 2014, and 514 in 2015. Committee suggestions: Lodges should continue to place emphasis on helping members obtain the materials needed so they can seek out new prospects and sell the fraternity. •

The committee recommends that the Grand Lodge form a committee to look into suspensions and reinstatements and establish a policy. The loss in revenue is approximately $50,000 in the last 3 years in Grand Lodge assessments.

 Utilize the materials published by the Grand Lodge Public Relations Committee. Lodge secretaries can purchase these items using the supply form. (Folder with DVD and tri-folds explaining the fraternity and programs).  Lodges need to be more aggressive in finding and initiating new members and do all things possible to insure that new EA’s receive their degrees without unnecessary delay. Even though lodges prefer to confer their own FC and MM degrees, they should consider taking advantage of C2A classes so their EAs will receive their degrees before the lodge goes dark for the summer.
