COMENIUS Multilateral school partnership Title : â€œLetâ€™s make our world more green and cleanâ€?
Summary of our project The environmental intergenerational solidarity, sustainable development and the integration of environmental sensitivity in the value system of society and the economy are priority issues which require the existence of environmental conscience. Goal of this project is the systematic understanding of the natural environment from young children, through relevant selected activities from the area of Nurseries and first grade of primaries schools (including ICT), in order to sensitize and awaken environmental consciousness for environmental protection and creating new environmental morals as result of the realization that improving the quality of our lives are intertwined and depend directly on the quality of the environment During the program, the children using the five senses, will experiment and learn the elements of nature , will suggest ways to protect the environment and better quality of life, hey will share their ideas and their work with children from other European countries who will learn about the environmental problems all over the world and in the same time they will share songs, stories and customs of the participant countries ,getting the sense that they are part of a larger world called Europe. Twelve schools representing more than 5500 students around Europe will work together and this plan will give the opportunity to students and teachers through their participation to cultivate their environmental conscience and to enforce their European identity, knowing the culture of other European nations. PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGY
By choosing activities from the environmental education, we set as our goal the full scale development of the children as well as their smooth socialization and the systematic understanding of the natural environment from young children.
Special goals : - Develop research, critical and creative thinking approach and understanding of contemporary environmental problems - Develop a code of behavior towards the team and the environment. - Respect and protect all kinds of life. - Develop positive attitudes to prevent and solve future environmental problems. - To actively participate as responsible citizens in improving the quality of life. - Be exercised in the proper use of technology. - Develop spirit of cooperation and responsibility, through games with other children. - Acquaintance with the heritage and culture of other European nations, to understand the similarities between different cultures, to understand their lifestyle, to accept their co - existence and to imagine a common future, thereby strengthening European identity.
Approach we will take to achieve our objectives: The interparticle (holistic) approach shall be applied, a methodology that requires the adoption of methods of active learning and energetic acquisition of knowledge and skills, which allow the children to shape a personal opinion regarding issues and matters of everyday life. The same methodology defines the role of the teacher as councilor, cooperator, mentor and animating spirit, while it provides him with the possibility utilizing everything that instigates the childâ€™s interest, to be flexible and to improvise inside and outside of the classroom, acting always to the advantage of children.
Evaluation In every matters of life, evaluation is considered to be necessary. For an effective evaluation, partners will communicate regularly using the means of communication already defined. The evaluation will derive from the initially set goals and from the degree of their achievement. There will be visits during the project where teachers may formally focus on planning, dissemination and evaluation of the project. By this, all the partners will collaborate on the assessment of the quality and suitability of the proposed activities. Students will be an active element in the evaluation process.
We will try to spread the impact of the plan to the whole school, but also the further social environment. The development of psychokinetic dexterities and abilities, the quality of work, the acquirement of knowledge and the whole programmeâ€™s presentation will be taken as axons of evaluation
The criteria will be: - The degree of achievement of the goals (for example the building of knowledge, the development of a code of values, attitudes and behaviors towards themselves, the team and the environment). - The methodology used. - The thematic rapprochement. - The heterogeneity and the quality of the informational sources. - The ability of organizing and processing data, information and elements collected. - The compose of work. - The cooperation between colleagues of the schools involved in this project - The choice of teaching methods, activities and materials for the achievement of our goals - The use of the new technologies - The achievement of the aims and goals of the programme - The inclusion of all students, including students with special educational needs - The changes we want to establish with this project in the community - The introduction of the project in the daily activity of the school - The increasing interest and motivation, the team work ability.
European added value Undoubtedly such this plan will contribute to the amelioration of the quality of school life, the improvement of knowledge and reinforce the European aspect of education.
-All activities will reinforce the self-confidence and the self-esteem of the participating students and teachers and will enrich their knowledge and experiences. - Will reinforce their contact with European languages and will encourages the awareness of their importance. - Will promote contact with the culture of people in other European countries and they will share their concerns. - Will learn to coexist and cooperate in the future. - Will promote respect for the others, for human values and human rights. - Will broaden their horizons - Will boost their local and European identity by learning their rights as European citizens. - Will encourage their involvement in this type of programs and their future collaboration with school foundations of other European countries.
