From The Editor

Time really flies! Still having the lingering feeling of the presentation and tabling of our respective KPIs in Pedoman 2011 and we are already half-way through. Taking stock of what we have achieved so far looks like we are on track for another milestone and brighter future. Everyone is busy with their work plans and objectives. Need to have a breather and looking back every now and then, just to be sure that we are not derail from the objectives. Also don’t forget to say hello and commended your staff every once in a while! A united front can be more efficient and decisive in riding out the unexpected. Self-belief and commitment together with honesty and sincerity will indefinitely take us to our destination, our KPIs successfully. People come and go but Metro will still be around and for us here the show must go on! So stop believing in rumours and engage in grapevine talk, as mentioned earlier manage your time well and it will be reflected in the results. Let not the negatives clouded over the positive vibes my colleagues

So many things happened since PEDOMAN and presentation KPIs for 2011. Some are good and some are reluctantly not so well received. There were a few changes in the Board Members and Management recently in line with company's new vision and aspiration Leader comes and leader goes and a new one will emerge from amongst us to take the lead. Let us not wallow into “what it should be” and “what it should not be”. For us who are still here, the business must go on. Our competitors are closing in on us and the landscape is changing. We need to adapt, learn and relearn new things and concepts. The faster for us to adapt to these changes will ensure our survival as well as our leadership in this industry. Business model need to be relooked and technology available need to be engaged in order for us to continue of being a leader Cutting down wastages and optimising the limited resources by being more prudent in our approach will give us more leverage in dealing and encountering the unexpected. Our business is all about timing and packaging. We need to do extremely well in providing what our customers are expecting from us. Surprise them in a delightful way can only be achieved if we have done our research and homework well. Another aspect that we need to address is retaining these customers with us forever. The customer service feedback is very critical for us to gather and to take immediate action. Our focus should be eliminating all the hiccups or reduce it substantially. A well-oiled machinery in all departments would be able to address this. Our communication between us must be improved. Let us remove the barrier and be as one Metro and we will be shocked to see what we can do once all these arrows were aligned to one direction! Lastly but certainly not least we have another four months to remedy, realign and then execute the plans effectively and efficiently to ensure that we can ride over this turbulence successfully

The event was held on 17th August, 2011 at Kelab Golf Negara, Subang, Selangor Darul Ehsan. This function was organised by Human Resources Department and attended by all employees from Metro Parking Kuala Lumpur Branch and Head Office. The event started with a speech by Group General Manager Tuan Haji Ab Rashid Bukhairah and followed with a speech from the chairman, Tuan Haji Rozan Mohd Sa’at. After breaking fast it was followed by Maghrib prayers and dinner. The event ended at 10.00 pm.

The Sports & Recreation Club has once again organized a family day, this time in Suria Resort, Cherating, Pahang. More than 300 staff together with their families attended the event. The activities held during the 2-day event include gala dinner, tele-matches, best dress, lucky draw and many more. Theme for the gala dinner night was ‘bollywood�. Two categories, Best Female Dress and Best Male Dress were also contested. Tele-match were conducted at the beach together with the volleyball tournament. All the departments participated in the volleyball tournament. It was indeed an amusing and successful gathering.

APPRECIATION DINNER Sports Club committee members enjoy a dinner (MAJLIS BERBUKA PUASA) at Riverside CafĂŠ, PWTC on 24th August, 2011. All the member come with their family and enjoy variety of food and entertainment by Isma Akademi Fantasia.

FAREWELL DINNER

This dinner is appreciation or token by the management after organising the Family Day at Cherating last month.

All the HOD are invited in the farewell dinner with En Halmi Jasmin at Hilton KL. The event was held on 25th August, 2011. Our Deputy GM, En Zamri Adam was presented the management to give the appreciation souvenirs to Encik Halmi. After the dinner Encik Halmi gave some speech to all of them.

MPP held their annual office summer outing last June 25, 2011 at Club Manila East. It was a stormy Saturday Day. They all enjoyed the chance to relax with colleagues. They use this opportunity to create a multitude of games to foster unity and camaraderie. They had many games that day such as Japanese walk, puzzle, singing contest and kayak. It was fun to see everyone out-scream and out-cheer each other. This year organizing committee is HR department.

Farewell for Vice President of West Pioneer (Metro Junction Mall, Kalyan) MPIPL made arrangement for a farewell party for Mr. Mac Daniels, the Vice President of West Pioneer the Mall owner of Metro Junction Mall, Kalyan. The Farewell was held at Westin Hotel Garden City, Mumbai. He has served for 4 years in Mumbai and will be posted to South Africa.

Hari Raya and Merdeka Celebration in Mumbai Malaysian Consulate has organized an Open House to celebrate Hari Raya and also Merdeka in Mumbai on 31st Aug. The Open House was held at Consulate General House in Mumbai Mr. Mohamed Hatimi Abas. All Malaysian based in Mumbai came and joined the celebration.

Development News From period month of May to Aug 11, MP India has secured 1 new car park contract 247 Park is a Mall combined with offices. This 69m tall structure stands towering over all other developments in its vicinity. It offers 1.8 million sq. feet of commercial space, spread over its three towers, for service businesses companies and retail. It also houses a business centre, ATMs, banks, a gymnasium, food courts and high-end restaurants. Metro Parking Services (India) Pvt.Ltd. has started operation on 10th Jun 2011.

AGM SPORTS CLUB plus MINI AIDILFITRI GATHERING On 11th June 2011, 27 staff involved in a trip to Universal Studio , Singapore. This is a 1 day trip from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.

Southern Region

Metro Parking’s Sports and Recreation Club Central Region held their Annual General Meeting and togehther with mini Hari Raya gathering on 15th September 2011 at the Open Hall, Pusat Bandar Damasara. The purpose of the AGM was to brief the club’s members on activities in 2011. The AGM also aim to parade the new committee members for 2011/2012 Session.

This event started from 4.30 pm until 8.00 pm. About 40 staff were present in this event which was held at training room, KOMTAR, Johor Bahru

The meeting began with a video presentation of activities during 2011, presentation of activity reports, financial reports and speech by Club President and Group General Manager.

CARE & CLEAN and BBQ DINNER This Program was held at Tanjung Leman, Johor Car Park from 8.30 am to 11.30 pm. About 30 staff gave their full commitment. Light refreshments was also provided to employees who are took part in the program. At night the event is BBQ Dinner and karaoke.
