In partnership with the Healthy Aging Association, Area Agency on Aging and Howard Training Center presents the Eat Better, Move Better Program. Any senior 60 years or older are welcome to attend the Eat Better, Move Better Program. The Eat Better, Move Better Program is a free, short interactive nutrition and physical activity session offered once a week for 4 weeks. Participants will earn rewards, win weekly prizes, and qualify for a grand prize at the end of 4 weeks. The free program will start on March 4, 11, 18, 25 at the Hammon Senior Center at 1033 W. Bike Swap & Meet

Saturday March 19th, 8am-3pm, 1416 Thorsen Ave, Modesto Hello cruisers! This is the first bicycle swap meet of the year hosted by Mario Martinez. Free to buy and sell, and this time there will again be free hot dogs while supplies last, so come on out and bring your money or parts to sell. Surgical Artistry Modesto Marathon

Sun – March 20th, 7 am & 7:20 am - 11th and M Streets This is the premier running event for our region.  The Surgical Artistry Modesto Marathon is proud to announce it has been named the Road Runners Club of America California State Marathon Championship and is also a sanctioned qualifier for the Boston Marathon. This year’s swag includes a tech shirt, arm sleeves in a new color, an awesome medal and a bottle of our custom Celebration Red wine to the first 1,800 to sign up for the full, half, or half marathon relay. 5K will receive a tech shirt & medal. All will receive a goody bag. Free photos to capture those amazing memories. There will be a kids zone, live music, vendor area, food, drinks and a wine garden. Shadowchase Running Club

This runner’s club meets almost every day of the week at various times to accommodate any busy schedule. The monthly social is usually on the 1st Thursday of the month, but in March will be meeting on the 10th. March’s meeting will include a special running exhibit that the historical and social committees have put together for the McHenry Museum. Virginia Corridor Trailway

The 4.2-mile Virginia Corridor Trailway follows the old Tidewater Southern Railway line from Needham Avenue to Bangs Avenue. With numerous amenities along the paved road such as picnic areas, shade structures, barbecues and gardens, the Virginia Corridor Trailway is a wonderful sight of our city. Walk or ride it today!

Dry Creek / Mensinger Trail

Dry Creek Trail is a 10.8 mile (out and back) trail that is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round, open from dawn until dusk. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash. Frisbee golf is a fun side-venture if you’re out on this trail. There is parking near the start and end of the trail at Oakdale Rd & Clause Rd, if you’d like to drive to the park before your walk or ride.
