Route 57 Restaurant, Mossel Bay, is an association between international golfing star, The 2010 Open Champion, Louis Oosthuizen and well known Mossel Bay Restauranteurs Ilze Nel and Anzelle Zeelie.
In 2002, Louis played his lowest round of golf at Mossel Bay Golf Club - a 57 gross (15 under par) â€“ You can see his score card in our lounge area. In life we are always on the road to somewhere and so Route 57 was born. This would not have been possible without the support and input of our family and friends. We want to thank them all for making this possible. The hand of our Heavenly Father was behind us to protect us, below us to carry us, in front of us to lead us and most of all in us to create our ideas. We thank Him for what He has blessed us with and bless you for what you are about to enjoy at Route 57.

L ouis matriculated at Albertinia and then joined the Ernie Els Foundation at Fancourt to further his golfing career. He had an illustrious amateur career playing for the South African Countr y Districts team a number of times and also represented South Africa as a Springbok Golfer for a couple of years before becoming a professional golfer during October 2002.
On 12 December 2002 he played his very famous round of 57 at Mossel Bay Golf Club. Lesser known, but also very impressive, is the round of 59 he also played at Mossel Bay Golf Club in 2004 â€“ where he had to make an eagle 2 on the par 4 18 th hole to break 60 again â€“ already a champion in the making!
