Former software engineer Aimee Woodside believes that women can always look stylish and sophisticated regardless of their body shape or size.

This has always been her mantra. Unassuming as she is, Aimee’s goal is to exude her best fashionable look regardless of what she wears. This is the story behind Bella Collection, a fashion line that defines her life inspiration- utmost sophistication for plus-size women.

Inspired by the love of her life

Her very own clothing brand allowed her to mend her engineering skills with her fashion sense. Bella Collection is also a tribute to her daughter Bella, which means “Beautiful” in Italian. After working for Information Technology companies for 10 years, she quit her job and focused on designing clothes.

“I lamented the fact that I can’t find the clothing style and quality that I want. That was my dilemma, and I realized, ‘why not try to enter the fashion industry and come up with my own?’ And that started it all,” says Aimee.

Proudly Filipino made

Aimee, who holds a degree in Computer Engineering, said her Bella Collection is fully home grown, all made in Las Piñas City. Her collection is apt from petite (small) to plus-size (5XL) women,

“We made our products very affordable for women of all shapes and sizes. We made sure it is within reach of the Filipino shoppers’ budget. We even have outfits designed for individuals in the corporate world.”

What makes Bella Collection different from other plus-size clothing brands? She averred that her collection boldly embraces curves by flattering their figures to make them as beautiful and slender.

“We employed a revolutionary approach to women’s fashionable wear by offering innovative clothing designed to flatter all female body types. We made our apparel accessible to all women, from the Petite to the Plus sizes, from Slender to Curvy.” Bella Collection offers fashionable pieces for women of all sizes and shapes, but they are very popular in the Plussize market.

An eye for the global market

For now, Aimee said Bella Collection outfits are sold exclusively online through their website, www.bellacollectionclothing.com. The brand is currently working on expanding its selling platforms through e-commerce websites and big mall retailers.

She also plans to conquer the global apparel market. “Our plan is to expand distribution so that it will cover the entire country, and perhaps even the global market. But we will do it slowly, as in one country at a time.”
