Berlin Alexanderplatz – located in the historic centre of the German capital in close proximity to many of the city’s sights, a major traffic hub, and recently transformed into one of Berlin’s top retail sites with a new urban chic. All these elements combine to lend “Alex”, as the square is affectionately called by Berliners, a magnetism that draws both locals and tourists. It is one of Europe’s main hot spots, attracting 360,000 visitors a day. With a footfall of more than 10,000 per hour it has outstripped even Berlin’s famous Kurfürstendamm and prime shopping street Tauentzienstraße.* This is the dynamic environment in which ALEA 101 is being created. High-calibre commercial premises with a clear retail focus. Elegant, flexible, modern. A solitary building in an excellent location, it will catch the eye even from a distance. The 30-metre high ALEA 101 will have five floors and a basement. Of the total gross area of some 19,000 square metres, around 10,500 square metres from the basement through to the second floor will be dedicated to retail; the two upper floors will house top-quality residential units, restaurants and/or offices. The unique, highly visible location promises a strong brand presence for its tenants. ALEA 101 represents the cutting edge in design and finish. The elegant cube with its balanced proportions exudes an air of discreet calm. The rotated sections and stylish façade lend the building a unique and distinctive look. A building set apart from the rest, destined for metropolitan retail success.
