Legendary songs that are the heart of Irish History

Diane is a lawyer who went through a divorce a few years ago. After losing her phone, she receives a call from Alexandre, a funny and charming man who found the phone and intends to return it. As the conversation goes on, the two hit it off and decide to arrange a date. Diane heads for the meeting with great expectations only to realise Alexandre is a man of diminutive stature.

Kevin started singing traditional ballad songs because of his deep love of the greats, the empowering Luke Kelly, The Dubliners, Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem and Finbar Furey… The legendary songs that are at the heart of Irish History!!! Kevin is backed by experienced and exceptionally talented musicians, Brian Hughes on pipes and tin whistle, John Hosey on guitar and Vincent Crowley on piano.

This evening promises a performance to be remembered and one that will definitely be enjoyed! Kevin Morrin and band has sold out every concert to date!

by Noel Coward

Following the resounding success of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest (an inaugural feat for directors Carol Gleeson and Helen Spring), A Likely Story Productions returns to the stage this summer with the equally entertaining Blithe Spirit by Noël Coward.

This play charts the crazed emotions of Charles Condomine, a popular novelist. Married to the super-rational Ruth (his second marriage) he impulsively holds a séance to research a thriller novel he is writing. The amusing experiment causes mayhem when he finds that his first wife, Elvira, has suddenly re-materialised! What follows is a hilarious and ghostly variation on an enduring love triangle!

One of the longest running plays on Broadway! A highly entertaining night of theatre!

by John B. Keane

Maggie Polpin (Margaret McKenna) is a widowed mother of four living in rural Ireland, now sole owner of the family shop and farm. She rejects the place which cultural precedent has laid out for her and chooses to drive all of her children away rather than nurture them like a mother hen.

John B. Keane’s Big Maggie is an enormously entertaining play with an underlying sadness - it is well worth the effort to go to see and make your own mind up as to what was really troubling Maggie. Fourth Wall Theatre Group is Co. Laois’s new theatre group consisting of new and experienced talent. Starring Margaret McKenna, Michelle O’Sullivan, and starring & directed by Kevin Lalor-Fitzpatrick.

by Jane Austin Directed by Eilish Rafferty

Elizabeth Bennet isn’t like her sisters or friends. She doesn’t believe she should marry for money or position. This unconventional attitude puts her at odds with her mother, who, with five daughters to marry and no money to add to their attractiveness, dreams and schemes strategic matches without a thought for love. Elizabeth, who considers herself a good reader of human nature, falls into the trap of judging on first impressions, a flaw that leads to heartache and shame for Jane Austen’s greatest female character and her beloved sisters. This summer, travel back in time to Regency England and accompany Lizzy Bennet as she comes face to face with pride and prejudice, her own and Mr Darcy’s.

In this delightful adaptation for the stage, a cast of 20 brings to life one of the world’s favourite love stories.

Last summer, writer John MacKenna began work on a requiem for theatre, in memory of young friends and in honour of those who mourn them. The requiem was inspired, in particular, by Leonard Cohen’s hope-filled lines: Behold the gates of mercy, in arbitrary space, and none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace, o solitude of longing where love has been confined, come healing of the body, come healing of the mind.
