One day my friend Fettah and I came home after long day at school. We were right on time to see the first match of the 2002 World Cup football: first time contender Senegal was playing the reigning champion France. This enabled barbers to financially support their community. My series C’est l’époch celebrates the barbershop Eagle Hair Design that has been an afrocentric public-intimate space in my hometown Arnhem for almost 14 years. I invited artists and activists to this barbershop to form a temporary protest movement.
