Dear Parishioners, Having studied the poll results, and having heard the advice of the Pastoral Council, I have decided that there does not seem to be a compelling reason to make any change in our current Mass schedule. This has been an interesting experience, and I thank you for your time and consideration. Changing a Mass schedule is something that should be done only rarely. Many factors go into the decision making process, which are as equally as important as the desires of the people. Also, keeping the schedule the same does provide a sense of stability. People like knowing that they can depend on the Mass taking place at a certain time. Visitors to our parish, which are many and frequent, also rely on a schedule that they do not have to wonder about. There did seem to be an indication that people could benefit from the 4 pm Mass becoming 5 during daylight savings time. But that is addressed by having a Mass on Sunday at 5:30 pm. So, I decided for the time being to leave that alone. It is my hope that we can all benefit from the knowledge that the Mass makes really present the same saving sacrifice that they Lord Jesus offered on the cross. May we offer to the Lord our own generous efforts each and every Sunday and exchange love for love. This means that our attendance at the Sunday Eucharist must in some way be a sacrifice as well. Sincerely yours, Father John Pardue
