ANNUAL DIOCESAN APPEAL IN-PEW SOLICITATION NEXT WEEKEND All that we have and all that we are comes from the Lord. “We are truly his handiwork,” says St. Paul in the second reading, “created in Christ Jesus to lead a life of good deeds which God prepared for us in advance.” Next weekend, in every parish throughout the Diocese of Alexandria, Catholics who have not done so already will be asked to support the 2012 Annual Diocesan Appeal. Our local Diocesan Church is comprised of 50 parishes and 22 missions and serves over 43,000 Catholics from all walks of life. Each year, every Catholic family throughout our local Church is asked to participate in the ADA. This is a vital sign of our unity in Christ as we reach out in faith and love to one another constantly in Jesus’ name. Supporting this Appeal is also a very meaningful way of expressing our gratitude to God for his many blessings. MORTGAGE BURNING PARTY Mortgage Burning Party and gumbo supper Sunday, March 25 in Cumella Hall after the 5:30 pm Mass. Please sign up in the vestibule.

Thank you for your generosity! OPERATION RICE BOWL In today’s scriptures, we hear how the Israelites repeatedly break their covenant with God, and yet God continues to respond with merciful and abiding love. Our response to God’s grace must be apparent in our works. This week through Operation Rice Bowl, we learn about our brothers and sisters in Zambia, who are unable to enter the marketplace and earn a living. We pray for all who struggle to find work, and we fast for those who cannot afford to feed their families. We give so that CRS can help marginalized people obtain loans in order to save money, start small businesses and work toward a brighter future.
