SAVE THE DATE! To celebrate the payoff of the mortgage on the Rectory, we will have a Mortgage Burning Party and gumbo supper on Sunday, March 25 in Cumella Hall after the 5:30 pm Mass. So that we can know how many to prepare for, please sign up in the vestibule if you plan to attend. OPERATION RICE BOWL In today’s first reading, Abraham responds faithfully to God, and God bestows blessings on him and all of his descendants. During Lent, we are called to listen to God’s voice in our lives and to respond in faith. This week through Operation Rice Bowl, we learn about adults and children in Vietnam who struggle with disabilities. We pray that we may recognize the inherent dignity in all of God’s people, and we fast so that our sacrifices may bring new life to others. We give so that CRS can continue to help people with disabilities receive a quality education and find productive work.

Father John will offer a Healing Mass on Sunday, March 18 at 10:00 am 2012 ANNUAL DIOCESAN APPEAL

Sanctuary Candle burns in memory of Mat and Janice Lohman

READINGS FOR NEXT WEEKEND Ex 20: 1-17; 1 Cor 1: 22-25; Jn 2: 13-25 Third Sunday of Lent

Abraham was prepared to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. St. Paul reminds us that God Himself “did not spare His own Son.” Are my gifts to the Lord - of my resources, of my time, of myself - also sacrificial? Do I contribute to my parish and the diocesan church? Daylight Savings Time begins next Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 am Don’t forget to spring forward!
