Squanto Written and Illustrated By Tommy Luciano
Squanto, 1585 - 1622
Squanto was born in about 1585. He was born so long ago that only the Wampanoags who were with him know his exact birthday. He was also known as Tisquantum. He was a member of the Patuxet Tribe. He was kidnapped by the explorers in 1615 and was sold into slavery.
Squanto is famous because he was captured by explorers and sent to England to be a slave. Luckily he was able to return to Plimoth. When he came back, he found his people wiped out. But he helped the Pilgrims to survive at Plimoth Plantation. He also helped make peace between the Pilgrims and the Wampanoags. Squanto was very nice. He helped the White people even though they were mean to him.
