Are you ready to make changes to your Health and Wellness this New Year?! Would you like to… feel more energetic? Sleep more soundly? Reduce Cravings? Think more clearly? Lose Weight? Be your Best! Ready for a Change?! Every year, people want to make changes to better their health but with so many diets, programs and products out there, it can be difficult to choose what’s best for them. Here’s a little insight into how and why I got started on my Journey to Health Inside and Out. 13 years ago I made a change to my family’s skincare products after learning about the toxins in our everyday products we were using and how they can affect our health and disrupt our hormones. I feel confident using a Pure, Safe, and Beneficial line for all of us. A few years later, I became a Certified Integrative Health Coach. I wanted to change my family’s diet and lifestyle because I learned about all the harmful chemicals in the foods we were eating every day. I have been sharing and educating others for quite some time now on skincare, health and wellness. I am excited about teaching others what I have learned, and I am passionate about helping others live a life full of HEALTH and VITALITY! Healthy living is holistic. It encompasses being knowledgeable about the foods you eat, what you put on your skin, exercising, learning to de-stress, and being grateful for what you have in your life. To some, healthy living may seem complicated, but it is not. Making small changes to your daily habits and understanding the importance of the changes can make a huge difference in how you feel today and your future health. My goal is to educate others and help them make these changes so they turn into new life long habits.

In my Healthy Living Program, I give people health tips, support, motivation, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists and more. There is also a private Facebook page for group support. I give step by step instructions on how to get started and guide people as we go through the program to make it simple for them. Everyone learns about the importance of digestibility, absorption of nutrients, acidic foods vs. alkaline, and how the rights foods fuel your body so you feel your best and it runs at its optimal level. It’s NOT a Diet, it is Healthy Living! Many people struggle with sticking to a “diet.” That’s because they can be very restrictive, people often feel deprived or hungry and counting calories can be very complicated. On the Healthy Living Program, there are foods on the avoid list because they are addictive, acidic and inflammatory to the body. But, you are given meal plans and recipes that are satisfying, curb your cravings, and keep you full so you are not reaching for unhealthy choices. Testimonials include having more energy, weight management, sleeping more soundly, learning to make healthier food choices not only for themselves but for their families as well and overall feeling so much better! Did you know that food also affects your mood??! Many people often feel less stress and over all happier when making healthier choices. The program is only $8.70 a day for a 30 day supply of nutrition products. The products are incorporated into your daily routine to help your body digest, absorb nutrients, release toxins, give you energy and provide nutrients to your body. So are YOU ready to start 2018 with the resolution to change your diet and lifestyle, have more energy, and FEEL YOUR BEST! I am here to guide you! Visit my website to learn more Contact me to join my private Facebook group today!

Why Not Visit a Local Country or General Store This Winter?

Are you looking for something to do on the weekend during the colder months? I was visiting one of my favorite spots the other day for a coffee, and it hit me. I wonder if everyone knows about these great little spots? So I decided to visit a few of the many local General Stores and Country Stores in the area. I love these little places, filled with kindness and local fare. You never know what you will find in these great little spots, and I was’not disappointed. So grab your companion, a friend or the whole family, make a day of it, and in the process, help out some local Ma and Pa businesses and have a wonderful country experience of a General Store!

Revere General Store - 8789 Easton Rd., Ottsville This store has a little bit of everything, and is a great spot to stop when you just need a thing or two. But bring cash, or you will have to use the ATM machine in the back to pay for your purchases. Upstairs is a deli with the biggest hoagies I have ever seen, packed with meat, reasonably priced and very tasty. You can get your beer, lotto tickets and the best part, hometown, nice people who are always serving a smile and conversation.

Lumberville General Store 3741 River Rd., Lumberville, PA

This adorable cafe sits across from the River and has tables on the front porch for the warmer months. I indulged in a Hot Apple Cider with caramel and whipped cream, oh yes I did! Friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere, and they serve breakfast , lunch and yummy hot and cold drinks. They also carried a few local items to purchase.

Max Hansen Carversville Grocery 208 Fleecy Dale Rd, Carversville, PA

Wow, is what I said when I walked into this great lil grocery store/post office. Such a country flair and feel, with such friendly locals and staff. Local crafter's have thier items available for purchase here, cards, hats, and even cute aprons made from feed sacks, which I must go back and get. Coffee, baked goods, beautiful home made breads and rolls, and tons of things to order when your feeling hungry. I ordered a breakfast sandwich from the back and enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the breathtaking fall views in beautiful carversville. This was a fav for me and will visit again very soon!

Homestead Coffee Roasters

1650 Bridgeton Hill Rd., Upper Black Eddy

This beautiful general store has so many treasures, from the huge old tree out in the parking lot, the covered porch with chairs and tables to hang out and have coffee, to the back patio for breakfast or lunch and a beautiful view of the canal. Great sandwiches, ice cream, local jewelry, and must I say one of the best coffee’s I have ever had. You can purchase several different flavors along with other great items.Great Atmosphere and a hometown feel.

At Spectrum Vision Care, we provide low vision services to visually impaired children and adults. Low vision is defined as visual acuity of 20/70 or worse in the better eye with correction or a significant loss of visual field. A better definition is vision loss that interferes with the ability to perform daily or educational activities. While seniors are most commonly affected by macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, children are more likely to have vision loss due to retinopathy of prematurity, albinism, optic nerve disorders, and cortical vision impairment. No matter the cause of the visual impairment, the goal of a low vision evaluation is to teach the patient how to make the most of the remaining vision. Dr. Richard is a low vision specialist who works one-on-one with her patients to show them optical devices (such as magnifiers and telescopes) and non-optical devices (such as bold-lined paper or colored lenses to reduce glare). If you think you or someone you know may benefit from a low vision evaluation, please contact our office to schedule an appointment. Eye Exams ~

Why You Should Take Your Child to a Chiropractor If you think chiropractic is only for pain relief, then you probably won’t understand chiropractic for kids. However, chiropractic isn’t for pain. Chiropractic actually focuses on improving the function of the nervous system, since it is the system that controls and coordinates everything else going on in the body. If your nervous system is only functioning at 80%, then there is no way that the systems that are controlled by the nervous system (i.e. digestive, immune, respiratory, etc.) can function at any higher than 80%. So what does that have to do with kids? Well, it starts with the birthing process. The modern birthing process is not only difficult on moms, but also on the newborn babies. Dr. Godfrey Gutmann, a German medical doctor, conducted a study of over 1,000 newborns and found that over 80% of infants had suffered trauma to their cervical spine (neck region). Other studies have shown that 95% of infants have vertebral misalignments after birth. During birth,

especially C-sections and births involving forceps or vacuum intervention, the head and neck of the newborn experiences a lot of stress, and this is where we tend to see areas of misalignment and nerve interference. Although an infant will not tell us they are experiencing pain, some of their symptoms may be the result of this birth-induced nerve interference. Common complaints include colic, reflux, digestive issues, and breastfeeding difficulties. Gentle adjustments, with the amount of force used to check the ripeness of a tomato, can help restore proper communication between the brain and body. When nervous system function is improved, often many of those complaints begin to improve as well. As children get older, they experience additional physical traumas while crawling, walking and falling. These increase as kids become involved with sports and other activities, carry heavy backpacks, deal with poor posture, etc. Many children also deal with chemical traumas in the form of poor nutritional choices. These physical and chemical traumas constantly bombard the nervous system, so it is important for children to be checked by a chiropractor. Other symptoms that have responded well to neurologicallybased chiropractic care are allergies, chronic ear infections, asthma, ADHD, and other sensory processing disorders. Chiropractors do not treat these symptoms, but it is amazing how the body responds when you look for the root cause of issues and aim to improve overall body function. As the Twig is Bent, So Grows the Tree At Radiant Life Chiropractic, we believe that to make a lasting impact on the health of our community, we need to start with the health of the youth. Healthy kids grow up to be healthy adults, and healthy adults make up healthy communities. We do not wait until we are 47 years old to see a dentist; we shouldn’t wait until we are older to see a chiropractor. It is much easier to stay well than to get well. For more information about the benefits of chiropractic care for kids, visit As a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), Dr. Andrew stays up-to-date with pediatric and prenatal chiropractic topics and research.
