Established in 1974 as a family company, AKGUN is currently operating on 13.000 sqm. land and 7.000 sqm. closed area, sucessfully continuing to produce radiators, flat wall tanks, corrugated tanks and corrugated walls. Identifying a need in the sector of cores for power and distribution transformers, the AKGUN family used the extensive experience gained with AKGUN RADIATOR and founded MKS TRANSFORMER EQUİPMENTS. Since its foundation, MKS TRANSFORMER EQUIPMENTS continues the production of cores for transformers ranging from 25kVA to 800 MVA.

TRANSFORMER CORE LAMINATION

12

Transformer core laminations for power and distribution transformers can be made from various grades of colled-rolled grain oriented steel. The lamination process requires a high degree of precision. Therefore, our team is performing strong quality checks which measure burr level, stack height, weight and other dimensions.

OUR TECHNOLOGY

We have added to our machinery park a new item UNİCORE. UNICORE is a computer controlled strip forming machine used to manufacture three dimensional, shaped, single or multiple faced transformer cores from electrical steel .

Unicores can be produced from any grade of cold rolled grain-oriented silicon steel (GOSS) with thicknesses ranging from 0.2 mm to 0.35 mm and strip widths varying from 20 to 300 mm. Two strips can be run simultaneously when using less than 140 mm. 20
