MK: What inspires you about being a hair stylist and makeup artist? NB: I think that makeup artistry and hair can help to define a model?s emotions. I began as a portrait artist that paints in oils and I found that the way I can render a subjects hair/facial expressions and cosmetic details can express so much about them and what they?re going through or what their personal energy might be trying to express. Makeup is a tool that amplifies emotion. MK: Tell us what defines you personally? NB: I?m an extremely expressive person. Even when I was younger, I used emotion to guide myself through any creative project. When I?m creating anything, my goal is for the viewer to feel something. MK: What are some personal goals or challenges you have achieved? NB: For a while I was challenged with hair since I?m self- taught. It took me a while to get the hang of that. The biggest goal I?ve achieved was to have the recognition and endorsement of my favorite musical artist. She has shared my work several times on her social media, so that?s pretty awesome. I?m forever grateful for that. MK: What makes you unique? (please be specific) NB: I have a bachelor in Fine Arts with a focus in communication design. I spent years oil painting and designing so I feel that I see faces and composition with a heightened sense. I?m not just interested in making a model look good. When I?m working on them, there is intention in every stroke, color and placement of hair and makeup art. MK: Tell us about some memorable moments of your hair styling ambitions? NB: I?m just starting with hair, so I can say that my favorite moment was when my model friend, Lauren, coached me through styling. I?m a stronger makeup artist so her help was crucial at the beginning! MK: How is the hair and beauty scene where you are? NB: There is so much opportunity. Atlanta is so close, so I?m pretty busy. I?m just starting so I still have so there are many more experiences to be had. MK: What cities or countries are you interested in exploring your craft? NB: I?d love to work in NYC. I?m sure everyone says that. I?d really love to work in L.A. as well. MK: Why did you agree to be featured in Mkovah Magazine? NB: I love your work, and I?m so excited to even have the chance to be featured. I?m honored and I?m blessed to share my work with others. MK: What inspires you about being a model? LT: What inspires me about being a Model is inspiring/impacting others. When you?re an Artist, you have a platform to tell a story in whichever way you want to express it through painting, photography, makeup, design, modeling, etc. You?re giving people a visual representation of what you are wanting to portray through your art. MK: Tell us what defines you personally? LT: Honestly, nothing really defines me personally - as of yet. I?m not exactly your average girl who?s been handed everything on a silver platter. I haven?t had the most lavish upbringing. I?ve been through a lot in my life; got my childhood taken away from me; experienced things that no child should; having to take so much responsibility at a young age. MK: What are some personal goals or challenges you have achieved? LT: The biggest goal I have accomplished is being here in this world...living. As young as I can remember I think when I was around twelve/thirteen years old, I contemplated my existence a lot. I often had suicidal thoughts running through my head. I was bullied at school, I was picked on by my Foster Parents and Foster siblings at home; calling me stupid (had a learning disability), ugly, twig (was anorexic),, etc. there was no escape. I had nobody but myself...so I had two options, either I sink or swim. And I chose to swim.

MK: What makes you unique? (please be specific) LT: I?m a weirdo. I am not your clichĂŠ Model I naturally stand out without even trying. I'm just an old soul with a big heart. MK: Tell us about some memorable moments of your modeling ambitions? LT: Hmm...the time I auditioned for a Fashion Show in Hamilton I decided to wear my brand new stilettos-not a wise choice. As I was doing my catwalk, I lost my footing; twisted my ankle and fell. I wasn?t the only one shocked that I didn?t fracture my ankle? it was intense. But I got back up like it was nobody?s business and I tried again. After my second walk (two-times the charm) everyone applauded for me. MK: Why did you agree to be featured in Mkovah Magazine? LT: Who wouldn?t? Mkovah Magazine is a great opportunity to showcase your creativity - which is nice, actually. You have built a community of different talented creatives to showcase their art and where art is appreciated by other artists; or by people who simply appreciate it. MK: What inspires you about being a model? TF: What inspires me is the fashion. Interacting with such talented individuals that shape our lives with their designs. MK: Tell us what defines you personally? TF: My family defines me. With such a small, tight-knit group, we all rely on each other and celebrate all of our accomplishments together. MK: What are some personal goals or challenges you have achieved? TF: My most recent goal of starting my own online business. As a young, aspiring entrepreneur, reaching this goal before 20 exceeds expectations. MK: What makes you unique? (please be specific) TF: What makes me unique is my ability to make everything an adventure. Whether it is a simple trip to the store or an overnight stay in the city, seeing new places just adds to the joy. MK: Tell us about some memorable moments of your modeling ambitions? TF: The most memorable moment of my modeling was being selected for the inaugural WALK Fashion Show Dallas in 2018. This was my first runway show and, the excitement, apprehension and and laughter I will remember always. MK: How is the modeling and fashion scene where you are? TF: Paris, Texas, well the fashion scene here is more Country Chic with blue jeans, blingedout flip-flops and t-shirts. There is one local, monthly publication that features local ladies as models. There are; however, more individuals like myself that walk to a beat of their own drum. MK: What cities or countries are you interested in exploring your craft? TF: Basically, anywhere in the U.K. and surrounding countries. I plan to attend University in Scotland making that area much more accessible. MK: Why did you agree to be in the Cover Model Tryouts? TF: I was truly liked what I read about the publication and their commitment to integrity in the modeling world. A friend of mine shared the information and I did my research. As a young woman it is important to me and future generations that companies like this remain. MK: Thank you for your time and interview TF: Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon. MK: What inspires your style of fashion? TA: I am and have always considered myself an artist. I am constantly trying to find different ways to express myself artistically such as with clothing, painting, and even with the food I cook. MK: How did it all start for you? TA: Both my husband and I style has evolved a lot over the years. I discovered my artistic abilities as a young child, but did not really start expressing myself in fashion until I moved to the Austin area. I have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with so many creative souls since moving to Texas, this have helped inspire me to express myself artistically in new ways. MK: What kind of feedback do you get about your creative style? TA: The feedback we get really just depends on where we are at the time. In Austin for example, I?m usually complimented on my clothing and accessories. When venturing out to smaller cities or even the city we live in, we frequently get a lot of curious looks and the comment ?You?re not from around here, are you?? MK: What makes your approach unique? (please be specific) TA: The key to us being unique I do believe is having a vivid imagination and the courage to express it. We are never limited to where we draw influence from. We are influenced from within, by each other, movies, nature, people or whatever we may come into contact with. MK: Tell us about feedback you get from those whom know you? TA: We always get positive feedbacks and compliments in abundance from people we know. MK: What are some of your goals in the next 12 months regarding what you do? TA: Our goal is to continue to create, cultivate our skills we have learn and find ways to incorporate these skills together in new ways. MK: What cities or countries are you interested in impacting? TA: We are interested in impacting any/all cities and countries. Our goal is to impact as many people in a positive way as we possibly can. MK: Why did you agree to be featured in Mkovah Magazine? TA: We agreed to be featured because we love the diversity we see in Mkovah. There?s a story to be told in every photo and this magazine is doing a great job of capturing exactly that.
