ACCOMPLISHMENTS / SPECIAL PROJECTS 2015 - ‘Rating of the Environment of Residential Development in St. Petersburg’ was presented for the general public. Developed methodology in a project team, ITMO, Saint Petersburg. 2014 - ‘Kronstadt Atlas and Vision 2040’ was presented for the city officials. Presented and supervised the section of build environment. 2012-2014 - conducted research and proposed solutions for ‘Rostov-onDon. Atlas and Vision for Sustainable Growth’. Where indicated general principles of the city and defined vectors of sustainable growth on the principles of a compact city and proposed the new model of attractive social spaces as new centers of activities and development. With a coauthor. CENTER OF CONTEMPORARY CULTURE AND ART Yakutsk. 2016-2020 Set in operation. Commissioning - 2020 Total area 5526 m2 Number of stories variable 3-4 Building volume 39 544 m3 Stages: preliminary design, concept, “Project”, “Working Documentation”, Interior designs. - Carried out under the agreement on public-private partnership with pre assessed and fixed construction cost estimate / budget. - The initial technical assignment was too ambitious for realization on the allocated site (52x66) a structure with 8 halls, several workshops, as well as offices and a cafe. Even when space needs analysis was carried out and the abridgments to the program Recessed entrance. The main entrance area is protect- were approved, proposed building ed from precipitation, wind and has additional insulation of walls and ceilings.

envelope did not fit on the site. Thus in order to reduce dimensions of the volume, multipurpose and convertible halls solutions were implemented. Firstly, functional spaces were stacked vertically. The hall on the 2nd floor could be reconfigured into 4 independent rooms; the foyers and vestibules are adapted for usage as exhibition spaces. They are connected by open stairs in order to provide coherent connection between floors. The open stair leading to the 3rd floor serves as additional recreational area or space for lectures and presentations.

Squiggly elements on the main facade are made with HPL panels. The plasticity is emphasized by lighting provied by built-in LED elements.

There are two main halls in the building. 1) The multipurpose hall. It could be converted into 4 separate rooms. 2) The cinema hall for 500 seats Interior design of the cinema hall.

Project Features:

Stages: Preliminary design

- Design was based on the approved ‘PPT Master plan’, with 2 separate volumes and a memorial between them. - Construction site is directly above the vaulted hall of the metro station which led to the development of a spatial frame allowing for the redisribution of the dead weight of the designed structures. This solution brought certain spatial limitations which were carefully considered while organizing technological links and layout. - Technological flows had to consider the position of the subway exits on both sides of the plot.

DAIRY PLANT RENOVATION

Moscow region, 2019 Total area 14000 m2 Number of stories: production facility -1, administration building - 5. BIM Revit, model preparation for ‘Project’ stage - issuance of drafts, specifications and BoQ, construction stages. Senior Architect on the project of the extension of a dairy plant (Moscow, Russia). Commissioned to develop a concept in compliance with both Russian norms and regulations as well as with EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group) guidelines. The concept included addition of new warehouses, dryers and an administrative building with hygienic rooms and laboratories. The design followed the principles of zoning for low, middle and high hygiene concepts. Besides the main task, my work included the development of reconstruction phases that allowed to avoid interruptions in the production process.

SCHOOL FOR 550 STUDENTS

Stages: preliminary design, concept, Amendments in “Project” stage (building permit documents), development of ‘Working documentation’, amendments in Interior design in compliance with the technological arrangements. Project Features: - Carried out under the agreement on public-private partnership. Strict control of keeping construction costs within the amount approved in the contract. - Outline of the construction site, a circle segment, was defined by ’PPT master plan’. Location and the building outline are defined by the free area left after proper allocation of sports facilities. Despite the limitations of the site, the building met all program requirements. - As a feature of national identity, the school has a conical shaped addition, the Urasa, the summer house of Yakuts, which houses national dance and theater halls.

Northern facade es to the building envelope in the approved concept proposal. One of the main features of the building is the colonnade of the main entrance. The school has an additional entrance in the courtyard. As a feature of interior design, the gymnasium could be viewed through the stainedglass windows of the second-floor recreations.

SCHOOL FOR 500 STUDENTS

Yakutsk. 2016-2018. Set into operation Total area 8400 m2 Number of stories 3 Building volume 335’554 m3 Stages: preliminary design, concept, “Project” stage amendments, “Working documentation” Senior Architect on the project (idea, concept). BIM Revit.

Project Features: - Carried out under the agreement on public-private partnership. Strict control of keeping costs within the amount approved in the contract. - Construction site is divided by a surface heat transfer pipeline into 2 separate parts. The city declined plans of constructing a new line and removing the encumbrance on the site. As a result,safety distances were kept from both sides of the line reducing the available space for the facility. The school was set on the part adjacent to the street, sports facilities planned on the other. Functional connectivity is conveyed by bridges over the pipeline. - The asymmetric layout solution is based on the parameters of insolation, daylight factor, technological requirements and features of the site.

The concept for the ecological park is based on the development of pedestrian infrastructure within the natural canvas with the creation of observation decks and recreation areas.

TERRITORY REDEVELOPMENT CONCEPT SAINT PETERSBURG 2014

The site is located on the territory of a former harbor and premises of a former exhibition center. The objective was to design a mixed-use development residential, offices, and a shopping center. Mixed-use territory involves competent zoning and linking of private, semi-private and public spaces. It gained even more relevance in this case, where the waterfront area is one of the main public attractors. The proposal was to analyze the

surrounding urban tissue putting a premium on architectural aspects as well as on existing social points of interest and their zones of influence. The idea was to integrate new development in the structure of the existing “social dialogue” and to accentuate entrance points to the new area and the embankement. New urban fabric has become an extension of the surrounding urban environment and was based on the existing public spaces of the harbor area - birch grove, monuments, a historic building, and a promenade.

URBAN RESEARCH OF ROSTOV-ON-DON 2012

In collaboration with V. Malenko. Study of the urban structure of the city, the features of landscape and green belt, connectivity of the grid and transport infrastructure, road and pedestrian infrastructure, the qualities and activities of public spaces. Search for opportunities to harmonize the urban environment in the face of challenges of the growing city. Green belt analysis.

The city of Rostov-on-Don is located on the right bank of the river Don, a typical local steppe terrain with hills, ravines, and numerous creeks. Elevation of the right bank reaches 40-50 meters above the Don. This natural advantage allowed this territories to be chosen during the establishment of a fortress and first settlements in the beginning of city’s history in 18th century. Through the city ravins runs the second largest river Temernik, which starts in the northern uplands and empties in the river Don at the main

railway station. The Temernik flows through many city recrational areas, including city zoo, numerous parks, and reservoir parks with sandy beaches in the Northern Residnetial Disctrict. Despite the importance of the river in the city’s ecological framework, water in the Temernik becomes heavily polluted during its flow, even dangerous to contact with. In the recent decades this situation was never properly addressed and territories facing the river remain underdeveloped due to the lack of attractivens.

Rostov-on-Don is a compact city, with its longer side stretched along the Don for 20 km and extended northwards for 11-15 km. With the population over 1 million, it is one of the densiest cities in Russia. In order to deal with growing population, the city recently encorporated adjacent lands (mostly agricultural) and increased its area by approximately 30%. New development, proposed in the new general plan, based on the concept of the high density microdistrict, should meet the demand of the upcoming decades.

However density is set to be distributed to the periphery resulting in more commuting and higher use of existing road infrastructure and public transit. Both, road network and public transit, already work on levels beyond capacity. Some of the esidential projects are already under realisation which will lead in the near future to the abovementioned problems and, consiquently, to deteriorating of the quality of life.

RENOVATION OF FORMER INDUSTRIAL SITES IN THE CENTRAL AREAS OF THE CITY. ROSTOV-ON-DON 2010-2012 Master Thesis

The problems of the renovation of industrial sites includes, first and foremost, the integration of previously exluded spaces again in a social dialogue. This means that this process involves the renovation of the city itself as an integral - the process of regeneration of an urban tissue. Diagrams and schemes from the Master Thesis presentation:

MUSEIFICATION AND REVITALIZATION OF FORMER INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT ROSTOV-ON-DON

The proposal of a new recreation zone with the multiple scenarios of the exploration of a new lanscape as a playground. This concept integrated existing structures and building remains with existing topographical complexity in favor of the architectural idea. The system of outdoor and indoor interiors included a market area, the system of connected squares and pocket parks, as well as play rooms, offices and coworking spaces, cafes, and exhibition premises.

THEATRALISATION OF ARCHITECTURAL ENVIRONMENT. The objective was to integrate a new function into a former greenhouse. Design concept included a learning center with a coworking, lounge areas, library, media center. The concept was built on the principles of biophilic design, accentuating existing features of the landscape and the greenhouse structure, as well as developing new ways to connect with natural environment.

MULTIPLE-STORY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING. Bachelor Thesis (with honors)

Residential complex with a system of outdoor and indoor amenitties, includng library and learning center, open terraces, running track, gymnasium and parking. Thesis project included architectural concept in line with federal regulations and fire safety standards, schematic design of engineering systems, apartment floor plans with interior layouts.

SPORTS FACILITY The main idea was to dissolve a big structure in the surrounding landscape. An eye-catching feature of the design is a cycling path in a tube that penetrates the building and the landscape terraces. In the building was proposed stormwater harvesting system. Collected water was used not only for the technical needs but also for the fountain in the central lounge zone of the building.
