Alex Ward for Junior Treasurer My name is Alex and I am a second year maths student running for the position of Junior Treasurer. After spending a year at Sidney I have come to realise that a lot of enjoyment and self fulfilment is gained from student-run bodies such as societies and sports clubs. However in order to function properly these groups require prompt yet considered funding in order to minimise disruption to club activities as well as ensure that we can gain the maximum benefit from limited resources. In this capacity I believe I would perform very well. I promise to be fair, always considering proposals for money carefully and objectively, ensuring that all interests of the college are catered for in some way. I would consider myself organised and I could be trusted to prepare and present accurate accounts at the end of each term and also in the annual report produced over the summer. I am polite and well-mannered and not afraid of speaking in front of a group of people. I believe that this would make me well suited to the additional roles of chairing the finance committee and sitting on the investments committee. I would love to become more involved in the running of SSCSU as I have very much enjoyed my first year here and I am in no doubt that this is in great part due to the combined efforts of many people. It would give me great pleasure to become a part of this and ensure that many more people can enjoy these experiences.
