How does it work?
It is a preparation containing food grade natural oils recognised by the Health & Safety Executive. It is not affected by extremes of temperature, wind, rain or snow as the oils create a film making it waterproof and prevents it from evaporating. The gel emits ultraviolet light that birds relate to fire. the selected natural oils are abhorrent to a bird’s senses of smell and taste. It causes no damage to the building or structures and it is placed in dishes that can be glued, magnetised or hung. Can be used indoors / outdoors and on any type of structure or building and even trees. • sea ports • airports • coastal oil terminals • military installations • railway stations • bridges • historic buildings
Trapping of pigeons is often perceived as the most humane method of removal. The birds are enticed to feed and enter open traps over a number of days until such time as the traps are set and the birds are trapped and humanly culled.
This is an intensive treatment which takes place usually over a two week period. Throughout the trapping period the cages will be visited every day. All target species will be removed, humanely destroyed offsite, and taken for proper disposal. Any non-target species will be released alive.
Bird netting is one of the most popular and effective methods used for protecting structures against urban bird pests. Nets can be used on virtually any part of any size of building, to cover roof plant machinery, fire escapes, light wells etc., with access points made available where necessary. Profiled to the individual location requirement to extend the net position to allow increase in internal working height. Netting is available in a choice of colours, gauges and can be flame retardant.
Upstand (spike system) comprising of a plastic base with 316 grade stainless steel prongs rising to a height of 110mm to 150mm. Positioned as a continual linear pattern fixed to the substrate using neutral silicon. This is a discreet system that is suitable for light pressure and possibly an alternative to spikes for aesthetic purposes.
Pigeon Culls Culling can control pigeon infestations, but only if adopted on a long term or continual basis. The preferred and most cost effective method is culling by shooting. This is carried out by a senior technician, usually at night, at prearranged dates when the site is least occupied. Gull Culls Gull control programmes are designed to reduce the hazards of gull occupation comprising of monthly visits from April to September to remove nests, food debris, eggs and chicks. By constant pressure on the resident population it will reduce the infestation sufficiently to remove the service over several years of attendance.
