Relax and Renew From day spas to getaway spas to those that specialize in aesthetic medical services, the Milwaukee area has much to offer. BY JEFF KARZEN

The Milwaukee area has an impressive variety of spa services for those who need a relaxing break. From massages and pedicures to cosmetic procedures like Botox and microdermabrasion, residents can find a wide array of spa experiences to enjoy. Although no one will confuse Milwaukee with fashion capitals like New York or Paris, our area does boast an impressive number of places to treat yourself and your loved ones to some fun-filled relaxation. In addition to Milwaukee-area destinations, there are resort spas in other parts of the state that are equally appealing. While the family is out running around a resort for a weekend getaway, it might be wise to hang back and take in the trappings of a stress-relieving spa experience. You’ll be well-rested and feeling great when it’s time to tackle the rest of the day.

VICI Capilli Salons and Spa Vici Capilli was founded in 1969 by Marvin and Penelope Rushing as a beauty school. Twenty-three years later, the couple opened their first salon in Brookfield. Today, the company is comprised of three beauty schools and three salons, one of which – the Vici Park location – also features a spa. Put it all together, and the Vici chain has built the kind of reputation that only comes with more than four decades of service. It also boasts an extensive menu of services. Among them are hair treatments, nail and skin care, waxing and makeup application. At the Vici Park location, the menu grows to include all you’d expect from a top spa. With a nod to Turkish baths coupled with modern amenities, Well Spa + Salon offers a wide range of relaxation possibilities. The Hammam is an excellent example of the spa’s ability to make ancient techniques feel refreshingly current. For 30 minutes and $45, the Hammam consists of natural mineral clay imported from Morocco, which is applied to the entire body to soften and deeply cleanse the skin to extract impurities. It concludes with a mud application, followed by steam and a warm rain shower. Clients also have access to an array of massages, waxing treatments, and services for nails and hair. 424 E.
