Take it to the Mat
Tighten and tone your way to a fit you this year. The Downtown and West Clubhouses offer Mat Pilates to help you shape up. at Pilates works your powerhouse, back, legs and arms using exercises that will lengthen your muscles as they strengthen. Pilates improves your core strength, flexibility, coordination and muscle control. The Downtown Clubhouse will have a new session of Mat Pilates on Wednesdays at noon beginning on Feb. 2. The 8-week session costs $10 per class or $50 for the session. Jeanna Jackson is the instructor. She has over 20 years of experience in personal training and fitness education. Hidden Fist is an exciting four-week course that will teach you the fundamentals of striking, grappling and disarming in order to protect yourself. You will also learn to improve your awareness to foresee a threat and avoid conflict. Hidden Fist is instructed by Dennis Manginn. Dennis is a martial arts expert and certified fitness coach with 20 years of experience. By the end of the class you will develop the confidence to protect yourself. This clinic is fun, exciting and a life-changing experience for people of all fitness levels. Sweat & Sculpt
ork up a sweat in a new hour-long class that incorporates both cardiovascular and strength exercises for a great workout. Sweat & Sculpt will Lisa Banotai. use a variety of equipment to perform calorie burning moves. Participants of any fitness level are encouraged to attend. The class will take place in the group exercise room at MAC West on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 3. The instructor, Lisa Banotai, is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and group fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise. Christine will help you reach your goals Christine Elsesser. by making exercise enjoyable and interesting. She is a certified personal trainer through W.I.T.S. Christine grew up playing competitive golf and tennis. She is an avid runner and race participant. She currently coaches running at the grade and middle school levels. Christine has also taught physical education in primary and middle school. She enjoys incorporating fitness ideas into mainstream gym class.
