I will begin pursuing a degree at Parson’s School of Design in September. Scholarships afforded me through my participation in the Miss America Organization I will be able to pay for school, and come out debt free! That’s the ultimate ‘power of the crown.’ Working in tandem with selfless volunteers across our great state was, easily, my finest hour. I’ve driven thousands of miles and made hundreds of appearances, all in an attempt to leave New York with a legacy of respect. More than anything else, this is the philosophy I have been proud to share this year with the wonderful people of my adopted home. Tonight, I’m happy to say the journey has far exceeded the dream. Finally, thank you to my Lord and Savior who has made me realize that perceived failures are only hiccups along the way. Trusting in His plan has brought me here. And will take me to the places where change is needed through Him. Sincerely,
Wishing You Success!
The Board of Directors and staff of The Christopher D. Smithers Foundation salute you, Amanda and wish you success in your participation in the Miss New York Pageant. The cause you have chosen to promote “Teen Drug Awareness” is most appropriate and timely. ®
