Treat Yo'self Ahhh Valentine's Day! Marketed as the day belonging to only those in committed relationships, it's the one day of the year where they get to show their love for each other with very public displays of affection. Single folks need not participate. I hope you can feel the side-eye I'm delivering as I type. Valentine's Day should be the day we honor all of our closest relationships, especially the one you have with yourself. If you're a fabulous single, lady (or any lady for that matter) and looking for a few ways to celebrate the day, without catching a case of the feels, here are a few tips:
SEND YOURSELF ROSES
- I love that
scene in Clueless where Cher sends herself flowers. Although she was doing it to make a boy jealous, I'm all for doing it to make yourself happy! If flower delivery isn't in your budget, pick up some flowers for yourself are your local grocery or flower mart. They don't have to be roses either. Pick up your the blooms that will most bring a smile to your face.
"During the next few days I did what any normal girl would do. I sent myself love letters, and flowers, and candy." Cher Horowitz
SOAK IN A LUXURIOUS
A bubble bath is not only relaxing, but it cleanses the soul. The tub is my safe space. It's the only place we're I'm truly alone, calm and with my thoughts. If life is stressing you out (as it's often known to do), spend a little quality time this Valentine's Day rejuvenating in the warm, bubbly waters of your porcelain tub.

AT HOME SPA DAY
you're in the bathroom, spend some time taking care of your skin. Give your face a deep clean, apply a mask, arch your eyebrows, pluck the hairs under your chin... whatever it is, take time to do it! In my book, Valentine's Day is the International Love Yo'self Day. Make time for your at-home spa treatments today. Your body will thank you for it!
Mario Badescu's products are among some of my favorite. They always leave my face feeling like new.
SEND A LOVE NOTE
Regardless of your relationship status, your friends are always there. Send them a love note! Today is a day of love. Let those closest to you know how much you care.Â
EAT THE CANDY
- On Valentine's
Day, calories don't count and diets don't exist. Give into your sweet tooth today! Buy the candy, eat the candy and worry about the gym tomorrow. One day of indulgence never hurt anybody.
BUY YOURSELF SOMETHING NICE
Arm candy, finger candy, shoe candy... not all candy id edible. If you're looking to boost your spirits, buy yourself a little gift. To you, from you!Â
DANCE PARTY OF ONE
- Put on
those dancing shoes, cover your floor with balloons (confetti if you're really festive), tell Alexa to play your favorite Pandora station and dance the night away. Some of the best night's I've ever had were spent dancing and singing aloud to some of Whitney Houston's greatest hits.
ORDER IN AND POUR A GLASS OF WINE
- I try and limit ordering
take out, but tonight is a special occasion! Order from your favorite restaurant and let them do all the work. While your food is on it's way, pour yourself a glass of wine and relax on the couch as your favorite cheesy romcom plays on the TV. Once your food is delivered, transfer it from the plastic take-out containers to your nice dishes. There's nothing like eating Chinese take-out (my favorite) off your fancy dishware.
BE YOUR BEST YOU
singles on Valentine's Day has the potential to bring on a case of the feels. No matter what happens, remember you are fabulous and you are loved. Do whatever it takes to remind yourself just how awesome you are. Here's a hint... sequins!
