As we honor the legacy of Pastor Tomás, we are more committed than ever to equip and empower more people just like him. We are pouring continuous effort into our initiatives of Christian Education, Bible Training, Health and Community Development, Mobilization, and Church Planting. Our Core Mission supports all these initiatives, and this year we have launched two groups of givers to Core Mission: the President’s Circle and Team25. Through generous givers to Core Mission, we can expand the outreach of Missionary Ventures to equip many more heroes like Pastor Tomás.

A Bible for the Man Who Couldn't Read Z A M B I A
snicker went through the crowd as the old man came forward to receive his New Testament.
They knew he couldn't read. His village in Nicaragua was only accessible by river, which was dirty and barely passable after back-to-back powerful hurricanes.
A team of pastors and missionaries equipped by MVI arrived along the river with parcels of beans, rice, and cooking oil, along with mosquito nets and ways to help purify water. In the old man's village of Lambiaka, the team was also able to distribute some copies of the New Testament. It was very well received, but the old man drew a bit of laughter as he came forward for his food parcel and New Testament. "Why do you need a Bible?" one villager asked. "You can't read it." The man just smiled and explained, "My granddaughter knows how to read. She can read it to me." This is just one of many encouraging stories to come out of a region devastated by disasters this year. Despite many hardships, the people are demonstrating great faith.

hen Rex and Melinda Guynn helped begin a tailoring school in rural Uganda, they never dreamed of the impact it would have. Not only did graduates grow in their faith and learn a valuable trade, but they helped meet an immediate need last year at the sudden demand for masks. One afternoon, Rex and Melinda were able to deliver 200 masks from the tailoring school to the Police and Prison Department. Melinda explains what happened: "When Rex arrived, the Commander invited him in to “talk.” Rex was waiting for the most common question, “What can you do for me?,” but that was not what he wanted. Commander Stephen wanted to talk about Jesus. He said his heart was to serve the Lord in ministry, and he just wanted Rex to pray for him. We believe the Lord has a huge plan for Stephen, and we are so excited to be part of his journey.”
