Athletes Village - N02.

Plot N02 is a 308 unit mixed tenure residential development with complementary retail floor space at ground floor level. 25% of the units will be for social renting. The project has been developed from scratch, from the initial concept presented on the competition. It has been designed in terms of maximum sustainability and cost. Prefabrication and module building strategy fulfills IOC and Lend Lease’s major requirements. It creates a temporary residential city for the athletes that will become a long-term residential area for the East Londoners.

Contribution.

In November 2007, started working on the early competition for Athletes Village, won by Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, for the further development of the residential block N02 for athletes competing in Olympics 2012 in Stratford. Worked on project development until the Planning Application and Stage C Report in summer 2008. ‡ Developed complete design of residential units – double layouts for Olympics and further use. ‡ Worked on details for consultants and Structural Engineers ‡ Created and developed CGI´s and 3D models of the project, both for review panels and client presentations.

Kidbrooke Village - Masterplan Greenwich London, UK

Design director of the project: Adrian Bower This masterplan for a new area of London replaces the existing Ferrier Estate which was completed in 1972 and contained 1900 social housing units in concrete blocks. Due to bad management and poor connectivity to the surrounding suburbs the estate fell into a state of serious physical and social disrepair. The new masterplan project is a 4.800 residential unit, office, leisure, park and transport district development. Of the 109ha masterplan area, around 30ha will accomodate the residential area. Ten hectares of land have been allocated as Metropolitan Open Land which forms a new “green river” running through the centre of the master plan. “Green fingers” run from this parkland through the development to the suburbs beyond, connecting the heart of the new site, and its parklands and recreational facilities to the community beyond. At Kidbrooke Village a “hub” provides integrated transport services, a supermarket and supporting retail, a hotel and primary care centre.

Interpretation Centre of Ciutadella Park Barcelona, Spain

Master/Graduation project - ETSASS Project proposal is developed in the historical park of Ciutadella in the City Centre of Barcelona. The project has two focal points. ‡ An excavation that rediscovers the original city walls ‡ A new and necessary connection from the park to the seaside involving multiple bridge structures.

Barcelona - SouthWest development projects.

Forthcoming developments: ‡ The zoo, which currently exists in this space shall be planned to move outside Barcelona. ‡ Restoration of the old buildings located in the park: the Catalonian parliament, the chapel and the natural history museum. ‡ ”France train Station” redevelopment. 78000sqm site in the center of the city.

Proposal IZ-CP - Ciutadella Park.

‡ Park of Ciutadella + seaside = 1327359sqm - the largest continuous public space in Barcelona. ‡ Park will have a new dynamic character due to increased flows of foot traffic throughout the zone. ‡ Redevelopment of the whole park: the old romantic routes become new dynamic routes linking the different parts of the city. ‡ Park’s tridimensionality: the original city wall remains are excavated to the surface and the history appears in the park becoming an open air museum. ‡ Open programme: ‡ interpretation centre. ‡ main services for use within the park: lecture hall, workshops, studios, exhibition centre and bar ‡ the archeological excavation and researching areas with laboratories, offices, maintenance rooms... ‡ The project connects Ciutadella Park to the city and the seaside. The building is integrated into the natural landscape, forming a bridge above the city-wall remains and camouflaged by its ceramic tile cladding. It merges with the parks natural sensations and colors.
