Gafffa Time Today Nomads would like to welcome Point of Ayr in a much anticipated clash, which is already looking like a title decider. Nomads have past history with POA with Nomads having the better track record against their visitors, but we also know that we will have a battle on our hands. Squad news:- Today we are only missing Mark Atkinson (broken wrist), Paul Murphy (work) and Ben Jones (ban), so we have a full squad of players to pick from. There will be a few first team players making the switch to the reserves for game time so that every player is ready for the next couple of weeks. Last weeks performance was up there as the best 'team' performance of the season so far, which is very pleasing to see. The lads raised their games against higher opposition again which shows we are playing well below our standard. The effort was spot on and the shape of the team was a lot more balanced which meant we never really looked like conceding. There are still a few things to work on as a group but this will come the more we train. I can't stress how important today's game is, if we beat POA today this will stand us in good stead for the run in to Christmas. We need to take every game as it comes, we have a lot of cup games coming up again this month. We need a victory today to leave us where we want to be when we return to league action at the end of November. Also it was very pleasing to see how many people turned out to watch us last week create club history, so many thanks. As special thanks goes to MR JESSE BELLIS for his valued sponsorship of today’s match. Jesse has been an avid supported of the team since we formed and can be very vocal on the sidelines— and we wouldn't have it any other way. On behalf of all the team a special thank you to Jesse Last of all I would like to thank all the local business for their support for the forthcoming season. Hopefully this programme will provide more exposure for your businesses along with supporting us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the game

PLAYER BY PLAYER Ste Hollyoak — Vice Captain Goalkeeper Ste has joined us this season having been chased all summer by bigger clubs. Ste is one of the best keepers around this area, and is a massive coup for this club. Ste's handling and shot stopping is unbelievable and he acts as a sweeper because he is so comfortable on the ball.

Kyle Reid Central Midfield Kyle has been at the club since it first started at the age of 16, picking up Young Player of the Year in his first season. Kyle has great feet and vision, he will always weigh in with his fair share of goals.

Mark Atkinson Defender Mark signed for Nomads half way through the season having started the season at Cyrmu Alliance side Penycae FC. Mark is a massive coup for us, he is extremely fast and always looks to get forward

Mike Pruett Central Midfield Pruett is in his second season at the club and will be looking to keep his place in the starting eleven. Mike has good aerial presence and is also very comfortable on the ball.

Paul Williams Defender Shorty is another player who has recently signed from Hawarden where he was a key figure in the defence last year. His partnership with Simo on a Saturday and a Sunday will be influential for communication. Shorty is very good on the ball and loves a tackle, also know for a ‘Beckham ball’ know and again.

Simon Roden Central Defender Simo is a massive coup for us as he bring in experience in the division above, as well as captaining Hawarden the last two years, he is a solid defender who will win everything in the air and on the deck. Simo will certainly be among the goals for Nomads and we will be looking at him to marshal the defence.

Mike Hopkinson Central Midfield Hoppo is another one who has been at the club since the start. Hoppo has great experience playing at a higher level, so his ability and knowledge will come in great use. Hoppo possesses great vision and desire to win.

Danny Sullivan — Captain Central Midfield Sully is the latest addition to the squad and this is a massive statement as to where we are going! Sully is quality on the ball and scores goals enough said!

James Hallows Central Midfield Jimmy played for me last year on a Sunday he loves to get the ball down and play and create something. Jimmy’s engine will be key in the middle of midfield and we will be looking for him to be box to box.

Paul Murphy Central Midfield Murphy has played at the Cymru Alliance level all of his career, so it is a capture for us. Murphy loves to plays the simple pass, he is strong in the air and loves a tackle.

7

Nicholas Jones Central Midfield Nicky has also joined from Hawarden, this is a big coup for the club. Nicky on the ball is one of the best around in these league, so we will be looking to get him on the ball all the time.

Jake Wynne Central Midfield Jake also signed mid way through last season and has had a positive impact. Jake has bags of ability and loves to dictate the tempo he also beats his man every time.

Ryan Davidson Wide Midfield Ryan is a massive coup for the club having played in the football league for Chester City. Ryan was a YT at Chester making a handful of first team appearances, before moving to America to study. Ryan has returned now and we are extremely lucky to have secured his signature. Ryan can play in a number of positions, so over the season this will be key for the team.

Rhys Peers Wide Midfield Rhys has only just joined the club, this is massive statement for our future. Rhys is a young player with bags of pace and ability and definitely has an eye for goal.

Ryan McCleary Wide Midfield Ryan started last season with us before moving to Saltney Town but he has made his return now. Ryan was banging the goals in last season before his transfer, from left wing and striker. Ryan is technically brilliant and has a great turn of pace which enables him to beat his man easily. We will be looking to Ryan for his moments of brilliance throughout the season

Leigh Jones Central Defender Leigh recently signed from Saltney Town, and he brings a wealth of experience with him. Leigh has played in the Cyrmu Alliance with Buckley Town before moving into management at an early age. Leigh has now decided to start playing again which is a massive bonus for us, and he will be looking to cement his place in the team. Leigh is very comfortable on the ball, really good aerially, and he is a great reader of the game.

Teams in the WELSH NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION 1

Mark Ellis Striker Mark signed part way through last season making a return to eleven a side football. Mark is very strong, he holds the ball up very well bring others into play.

Acrefair Youth Argoed United Castell AC

Ben Jones Striker

FC Nomads of CQ

Ben's signing was also a massive coup for the club, signalling our intentions. Ben was and ex YT at Chester City and Welsh Youth but somewhat lost his way in football. Ben is finally getting his love back for the game and his scoring record for us already states that. Ben reminds me of 'Wayne Rooney' with his build, right through to that air of arrogance stroke brilliance.

Garden Village Johnstown Youth Lex X1 Llanuwchllyn

Nathan Jones Striker

New Brighton Villa Point of Ayr

Nathan joined us from the Lache recently and he has already proved an instant hit. Nath possesses great strength and work rate, he also get his fair share of goals for the team.

CAMERA FLASHBACK

Match Report from F.C Nomads v Pwllheli Today FC Nomads were looking to add to their recent good form my scalping Pwellhi in the Welsh Cup First Round. This was Nomads first ever appearance at this stage and were feeling confident of progressing again. The feeling and atmosphere around the club in recent weeks has been brilliant. The pitch had been cut and marked earlier that day so everything was set for this battle for a place in the next round. The eagerly awaited tie was being watched by a bumper crowd, ready to cheer the Nomads on. Nomads were going into the game having beaten Garden Village in the league cup first round the previous week. Nomads had a few late pull out's from the squad including Mike Hopkinson (injury) and Ryan McCleary (arrested), but other than that Nomads were at full strength. The game started with both teams cagey and not wanting to go behind early on, the first real chance falling to Pwllheli. Nomads conceded a corner and if not for a great save by Ste Hollyoak they would of found themselves behind. This kicked Nomads into life a bit with skipper Danny Sullivan leading the charge, and moments later Mike Pruett went close with a dipping volley. The only thing Nomads were lacking now was the quality in the final 1/3, with passes doing astray. Pwllheli were also having a few chances with a slip nearly allowing them a golden opportunity to take the lead. This was an equal contest as the first half drew to an end, who would come out second half strongest?

1. Congo River (it crosses the Equator twice during its journey). 2. Parallel Olympics.

The first twenty minutes of the second half were always going to be key for either side. Nomads seemed determined to make sure this was going to be their half. Nomads were now penning Pwllheli in their own half for long periods, but were missing that cutting edge. The Nomads defence were looking as solid as ever, but there was still doubt that if we didn't score, Pwllheli might nick a goal. The introduction of pace in the form of Danny Barlow seemed to stretch Pwllheli that little bit more. Within minutes of his introduction Mr Barlow latched on to a through ball to lob the keeper to make it 1-0. This was just what Nomads needed and within five minutes a beautifully taken touch by Danny Barlow and a great switch, released Ryan Davidson who smashed the ball into the top corner. The supports were now cheering the Nomads on, but things took a sour twist when striker Ben Jones was sent off for violent conduct. This wasn't going to stop the Nomads though as substitute Mark Ellis created an opening for Danny Barlow to make it 3-0. This is how the score stayed until the final whistle with Nomads progressing to the next round of the Welsh Cup.

Gaffa's Thoughts:-

4. Benazir Bhutto.

Today was a massive statement from the club today, we are the lowest ranked club still in the competition. The lads were fantastic today, I couldn't fault anyone's desire or effort. Certain players weren't at the races in-terms of quality but gaining a result like today makes it more impressive. I will go on record by saying there is still a lot more to come from this squad. The banter and togetherness at club is a joy to be apart of. Today we were missing six first team players, this shows what strength and depth we have in this season's squad. A special mention goes to Danny Barlow you made his first team debut today and grasped it with both hands.

5. Liechtenstein. 6. Antonym. 7. Anna Kournikova. 8. 6009. 9. First player to be sent off in a FA Cup Final. 10. Number Eight (remember that the bowling changes ends every over, so No.2 was out on the seventh ball). 18
