Vs Garden Village 1

Gafffa Time Today we play host to Garden Village in the second league game of the season. There is no history between the two clubs with Nomads moving over to this side of the border last year. I’m going into the game full of confidence in my players, I think we can get a result today. In our last match against LLANIDLOES TOWN we started poorly conceding a goal with one minute and ended the first half three goals down. The first half was even but Llans strikers took their chances superbly, leaving us behind. Second half we came out and dominated from the whistle creating chances after chances playing so really good football at times. We got our goal early but due to the lack of composure along with some great goalkeeping and defensive blocking we couldn’t increase our goal tally. Then one break in the last five minutes, again resulting in a goal with an excellent finish from their striker. A lot of important lessons to be taken from this game, and hopefully we will bounce back this Saturday with the all important three points. Last of all I would like to thank all the local business for their support for the forthcoming season. Hopefully this programme will provide more exposure for your businesses along with supporting us!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy the game,

Tom Taylor

We welcome

Garden Village

Garden village travel to F.C Nomads today lying in 3rd position in our league and on the back of a 4 — 0 victory against Glyn Ceiriog last week 4

PLAYER BY PLAYER Danny Wynne — Captain Striker Danny is the current 'Captain' and will be looking at lifting some silverware this season. Danny has great aerial prowess winning most of his aerial battles. Danny will be looking to pick up the Golden Boot this season after his strike partner scooped it last year.

Ste Hollyoak — Vice Captain Goalkeeper Ste has joined us this season having been chased all summer by bigger clubs. Ste is one of the best keepers around this area, and is a massive coup for this club. Ste's handling and shot stopping is unbelievable and he acts as a sweeper because he is so comfortable on the ball.

Thomas Taylor Defender / Player Manager This is my first season managing on a Saturday so I will be looking to get off to a flyer. I have managed a Sunday team for the last five years, but thought it was time for a change. I had mixed fortunes on a Sunday managing but i feel like it has given me an eye opener for this forthcoming season. I will not be looking at playing much this season as I feel we have a squad capable of achieving what I have set them. Really looking forward to this season working with my players and the people behind the scenes.

Carl Thomas Central Defender Tomo has rejoined Nomads after a season away, Tomo was Nomads captain until he left. Tomo possesses a great strength in the air and on the floor making him hard to play against.

Chris Taylor Central Defender Taylor has been an ever present since the club began making the full back role his own. Taylor is an extremely fit person who gets up and down the pitch quickly. Taylor also has good feet with a great desire to win.

Craig Hett Sweeper Hetty has signed on this season having not played Saturday football for years. Craig will bring a vast knowledge of football to some of the younger lads and will be an asset at the club.

Gareth Hanson Left Midfield Gaz join last week bringing a wealth of knowledge in the higher league with him. Gaz has a great left foot he is also a great tackler with a desire to win at all costs.

Greg Walker Central Midfield Greg is looking to get back to full fitness this season and play his passing game. Greg's great range of passing will be an asset to the club.

Jonathan Taylor Sweeper Jonny had a season out from football last year but has decided to give it a go this season. Jonny can read the game very well, not many players get past this lad.

Kyle Reid Central Midfield Kyle has been at the club since it first started at the age of 16, picking up Young Player of the Year in his first season. Kyle has great feet and vision, he will always weigh in with his fair share of goals.

Mike Hopkinson Central Midfield Hoppo is another one who has been at the club since the start. Hoppo has great experience playing at a higher level, so his ability and knowledge will come in great use. Hoppo possesses great vision and desire to win.

6

Mike Pruett Central Midfield Pruett is in his second season at the club and will be looking to keep his place in the starting eleven. Mike has good aerial presence and is also very comfortable on the ball.

Nicholas Jones Central Midfield Nicky has also joined from Hawarden, this is a big coup for the club. Nicky on the ball is one of the best around in these league, so we will be looking to get him on the ball all the time.

Nick Hurley Central Midfield NIck is starting his second full season with Nomads and will also be looking to make sure he is in the starting line up. Nick is a great talker and this will be key for the players around him, he also possesses great aerial ability.

Paul Hynes Central Midfield Beeny is going into his second season with the club, Beeny is a tough tackling midfielder who takes no prisoners.

Tom Swinburne Left Back Swinny has arrived from Argoed United who were very unlucky not to have gone up last season. Swinny can operate left back or left wing and has very good feet, also has an eye for a wonder goal.

Karl Thomas Striker Karl is a great player to have in any side with his never say die attitude. Karl will work his socks off for the team without being asked and pops up with his share of goals as well.

7

James Hallows Central Midfield Jimmy has joined from Hawarden this season and will look to juggle between watching Liverpool and playing. James great work rate and range of passing will definitely come in use.

Sean Kilgannon Central Midfield Sean joined the club last minute with a little bit of light persuasion, and the fact he doesn't want to travel much. Sean has the pedigree to play at a higher level and has proved it where ever he has played. Sean it technically gifted, his movement it class and always pops up with a goal.

Tom Coghill Central Midfield TC is a tough tackling, energetic midfielder who loves to get about the field. TC is one of the fittest at the club.

Jamie McConnell Right Midfield Jamie is another one of the originals and will be looking to add another medal to his trophy cabinet. Jamie is an all action player who gives his all and will work all day long. Jamies is a great team player who always scores important goals.

Lee Williams Right Midfield Lee has rejoined the club after two season away, Lee has a great engine on him and will look to get among the goals.

MATCH REPORT

Nomads v Llanidloes

Nomads having played Llanidloes two years ago in the same cup would be looking to put history right by turning their opponents over. The game started at a frantic pace as Nomads looked cagey and within the first minute Nomads fell behind with Tom Taylor not tight enough to his man allowing the Llan strikers to do a quick one two leaving Jamie Breeze an easy opportunity to open the scoring. This wasn’t the start Nomads were looking for, although behind Nomads were carving out the odd half chance with Danny Wynne and Lee Molyneux constantly causing problems in the penalty box. Then with a Nomads attack breaking down Llan broke in numbers causing a rash challenge on the edge of the Nomads penalty area, free kick awarded. Nomads were now on the ropes, Ste Hollyoak set his wall up only for the Matthew Savage to curl the ball beyond the Nomads keepers reach. This was a killer blow for Nomads now with their heads starting to go. Again Nomads came back with a good chance with Carl Thomas and Mike Hopkinson going close from corners. With a couple of minutes left of the half left Llan broke again with a long kick from their keeper causing indecision between the defence allowing Jamie Breeze time to nestle the ball in the top corner making the score 3-0. The second half began with Nomads on the front foot almost scoring on two occasions, as the Llan keeper manages to claw out a Tom Coghill header out of the top corner. Then a succession of corner resulted in some scrambles in the box and efforts that you could only dream of as a No9 again went begging. It wasn’t long before Danny Wynne finally made the pressure count with a smart finish. Nomads were on top and the pressure was telling as Llan sat deeper and deeper but again the finishing was poor. A change was in order with the returning Karl Thomas coming on in place of Mike Hopkinson, giving us more impetus in the final third. The clock was ticking and with Nomads squandering chances left right and centre it was only a matter of time before they got punished for it. Llan broke with five minutes to go with the deadly strike duo combining with Jamie Breeze again striking to make it two for him. This is how the score stayed for the remainder of the game, great second half performance by the lads, but still lessons to be learnt.
